2020 has certainly been a very odd year to say the least. With the Coronavirus pandemic putting the UK (and the rest of the world) into lockdown for months, most of the population were furloughed, whilst others worked from home and the essential key workers carried on with their duties.
But the one thing that has remained the same throughout the last few months is the uncertainty of celebrity romances! Despite a lot of celeb couples actually announcing their engagements over the last 12 months, others grew apart, announcing their shock splits to the world.

Vanessa Hudgens and Austin Butler
Hollywood couple Vanessa Hudgens and Austin Butler reportedly called it quits in January 2020 after dating since September 2011, with a source telling Us Weekly, "Vanessa and Austin are officially broken up, and Vanessa has been telling those close to her about their breakup."
Fern Britton and Phil Vickery
Fern Britton and Phil Vickery announced they'd split after more than 20 years together in January 2020. Announcing the news on social media, Fern wrote, 'After more than 20 happy years together, Phil and I have decided to go our separate ways. We will always share a great friendship and our lovely children . We would appreciate it if our privacy is respected at this time. Thankyou for your continued kindness and support. ❤️'
Giovanni Pernice and Ashley Roberts
After meeting on Strictly Come Dancing back in 2018, Giovanni Pernice and Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts announced their split in January 2020.
Giovanni wrote on Twitter, '@ImAshleyRoberts and I have made the decision to separate as a couple. We remain friends and wish each other well for the future.'
Jesy Nelson and Chris Hughes
During lockdown in April, rumours suggested that Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson had split from Love Island star Chris Hughes.
The pair have remained friends, with Chris showing his support for his ex-girlfriend when she announced she was leaving Little Mix in December.
Jessie J and Channing Tatum
Fans were over the moon when Jessie J and Channing Tatum reconciled their romance at the start of 2020, but just months later the pair split again, with reports suggesting they are 'better off as friends'.
Wes Nelson and Arabella Chi
Despite not being on the same series of Love Island, Wes Nelson and Arabella Chi started dating shortly after Ari left the villa. Although the pair moved in together, just nine months after they went official, reports suggested that Wes and Arabella had split in April 2020.
Mary-Kate Olsen and Olivier Sarkozy
After five years of marriage, in April Mary-Kate Olsen filled for a divorce from her husband Olivier Sarkozy.
Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green
Actress Megan Fox announced her split from Brian Austin Green in May, the pair were married for nearly 10 years and have three children together.
Scott Disick and Sofia Richie
After almost three years together, reports suggested in May that Kourntey Kardashian's ex-boyfriend Scott Disick and Sofia Richie were taking a break. However, just weeks later, new reports emerged that the pair had split for good.
Francesca Farago and Harry Jowsey
After captivating the hearts of the nation with their romance on Netflix dating show Too Hot To Handle, Francesca Farago and Harry Jowsey seemed to be the new hottest couple in showbiz.
However, things didn't last for the pair, with Francesca announcing that Harry had dumped her in June.
Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock
After 7 years of marriage, America singer Kelly Clarkson filed for divorce from her husband Brandon Blackstock in June 2020.
Cody Simpson and Miley Cyrus
Following a 10 month relationship, Miley Cyrus announced she'd split from Cody Simpson in August, admitting the pair are still great friends.
Jennifer Metcalfe and Greg Lake
Hollyoaks actress Jennifer Metcalfe and former Geordie Shore star Greg Lake announced an 'amicable split' in August, revealing they 'parted way' a number of months ago. The pair remain friends and co-parent their three-year-old son Daye.
Cardi B and Offset
'WAP' singer Cardi B filed for divorce from her husband Offset in September 2020, with the rapper admitting their romance is 'irretrievably broken'.
HOWEVER, just one month later the pair confirmed the divorce was off, and they were back together!
Zac Efron and Vanessa Valladares
After a whirlwind five months romance, Hollywood actor Zac Efron split from his Australian girlfriend Vanessa Valladares due to distance issues.
