Strictly start date confirmed in dazzling new trailer

Now we know which 15 celebrities will be taking part in the 2025 series of Strictly Come Dancing, excitement is building ahead of the glitzy show's return! With series 21 due to begin later this month, the start date has now been confirmed in a dazzling new trailer.
When does Strictly begin?
The 2025 series of Strictly is due to begin at 6.40pm on Saturday 20th September, with a pre-recorded launch show where fans will meet this year's celebrities and professional dancers.
The first live show of the series will then air on Saturday 27th September, with no celebs being voted off in the first week. The first elimination will take place during the first results show on Sunday 5th October.
As ever, the results shows will be filmed on Saturday night, but will not air until the Sunday evening.
The news was confirmed in a dazzling trailer featuring this year's professional dancers, alongside head judge Shirley Ballas.

When do they go to Blackpool?
This year, the cast and crew will head to the famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom on Saturday 22nd November.
When is the final?
The final is scheduled to take place on Saturday 20th December, just five days before Christmas Day.
Can I get tickets?
Fans were able to apply in a random draw for tickets to Strictly Come Dancing up until 10pm on Tuesday 2nd September. Unfortunately, the ballot is now closed.

Balvinder Sopal
Best known for: EastEnders star
Balvinder said: "Being on Strictly is a dream that I held on to, with no proof that it would ever happen. Working on EastEnders and being a part of Strictly Come Dancing is the stuff that dreams are made of. George Clark

Chris Robshaw

Thomas Skinner

Earlier this year bosses confirmed that 18 professional dancers will return to the show, including fan favourites such as Dianne Buswell, Nadiya Bychkova, Amy Dowden, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin, Gorka Marquez, Luba Mushtuk, Jowita Przystal, Johannes Radebe, Aljaž Škorjanec, Kai Widdrington, Nancy Xu, Carlos Gu, Lauren Oakley, Michelle Tsiakkas and Vito Coppola.
Two brand new dancers will also feature in the form of Alexis Warr and Julian Caillon, whilst Gorka Márquez has revealed he won't have a partner this year, due to filming the Spanish version of the show.
Strictly Come Dancing will return on 20th September.
