Following the success of the rebooted series of Big Brother last year, it was no real surprise when ITV/STV bosses confirmed they'd also be bringing back the celebrity edition, a show which has created some of the most iconic reality TV moments in history over the last two decades.
Launching on 4th March 2024, bosses managed to land names such as Sharon Osborne, Louis Walsh, Fern Britton, Nikita Kuzmin, Bradley Riches and Love Island star Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu. Following the success, ITV/STV confirmed it would return on Monday 7th April 2025, and rumours were certainly rife about which famous faces would take part in series two.
Who was rumoured for Celebrity Big Brother?
Now that this year's contestants have been confirmed, with the series taking place now, here we take a look at which famous faces were rumoured, but didn't end up going into the famous house.
Tommy Fury
Ever since his split from Love Island fiancée Molly-Mae Hague, boxer Tommy Fury has been tipped for a number of reality TV shows, including both I'm A Celeb and Love Island: All Stars. Amid rumours that Tommy is back together with Molly, CBB bosses were reportedly keen to get him in the house this year, but it didn't happen!
Rebekah Vardy
WAG Rebekah Vardy was rumoured for the 2025 series, with bookies tipping her to sign up after arch-nemesis Coleen Rooney's appearance on I'm A Celeb.
Ella Morgan
Best known for her appearance on Married At First Sight UK back in 2023, Ella Morgan is no stranger to reality shows, having also been part of series 13 of Celebs Go Dating. According to reports in the media, Ella was 'really up for' appearing on CBB, with bosses also keen to sign her up. However, it didn't happen!
Annie Kilner
According to a national newspaper, footballer Kyle Walker's wife Annie Kilner was eyeing up a huge £750,000 to appear on the 2025 series. With all of the recent drama surrounding her husband, bosses were hoping she will spill some beans in the house. Despite the rumours, there was no sign of Annie on the line-up.
Amanda Abbington
Following the drama surrounding her stint on Strictly Come Dancing with professional dancer Giovanni Pernice, actress Amanda Abbington was another name high on the list of bosses. ITV/STV were reportedly hoping Amanda would divulge more into the complaints she made against Giovanni and the BBC show. Of course, Amanda didn't end up signing up for the series.
Paul Chuckle
Chuckle Brother Paul was set to take part in the rebooted series back in 2024, but bosses reportedly made a last minute decision not to include him. There was rumours flying around he would appear in 2025, but there was no sign of him during the launch show.
When did Celebrity Big Brother start?
Celebrity Big Brother 2025 kicked off on Monday 7th April, running for three weeks until Friday 25th April.
The new series airs every Sunday-Friday on ITV1/STV1 at 9pm.
