The Cheetahs are clawing their way back to our screens - and this time they’re bringing a new generation with them. Disney Channel and Disney+ have greenlit Cheetah Girls: Next Gen, with Raven-Symoné and Adrienne Bailon returning to lead the pack, while a fresh teen cast joins the franchise for a new adventure.

The film keeps the same mix of friendship, music and feel-good vibes that made the originals such a hit, but this time the story heads into new territory. Here's everything we know about the next chapter...

What is Cheetah Girls about?

The original Cheetah Girls released in 2003 follows four best friends, Galleria, Chanel, Dorinda and Aqua, as they form a teen pop group in New York and chase their big break while trying to keep their friendship intact.

In 2006's Cheetah Girls 2, the group heads to Barcelona for a music festival, where fame, romance and pressure start testing the bond between the girls.

The third film, The Cheetah Girls: One World released in 2008, moves to India, where the trio joins a Bollywood production and starts drifting as solo opportunities pull them in different directions.

What is the reboot about?

The logline for the film reads: 'The story picks up when Cheetah Girls Galleria and Chanel, alongside Galleria’s daughter Faith and her three friends, travel to Africa to volunteer at a wildlife sanctuary.'

Adding: 'Along the way, these four teen girls test their friendship, find their voice, and discover the true Cheetah spirit as they save the preserve and ultimately take the stage as the new Cheetah Girls.

Posting to Instagram on 8th June 2026, Raven shared a video compilation of herself 'strutting' through different outdoor moments, including an encounter with an actual cheetah to mark the reboot news. Her caption read: '🐆 It’s happening, and it’s CHEETAHLISHIOUS!'.

Synopsis: At the jaw-dropping D23 fan event in August 2026, Pixar bosses gave a huge update on what we can expect from the third - and final - film in the franchise. Pete Docter said: "Rounding off the trilogy, the Parr family and Frozone are back. If you remember in the last film, supers are officially legal again, thanks to Winston Deavour. Now, he's an entrepreneur at heart. Deavour is launching the superhero league, it's a heavily sponsored organisation built on a massive platform of branding, marketing and merchandising - something we don't really know anything about at Disney!

"In the first Incredibles, Bob learned that his family is actually his greatest adventure. In the second, Elastigirl took centre stage and with Incredibles 3, it's the kids' turn. Violet and Dash are determined to step out onto the road, they want to prove that they are ready to be real supers and their parents are not quite so convinced. They've been sneaking out at night to protect the city - that doesn't go over so well at home. To make matters worse, they are struggling to contain Jack Jack, whose powers make it even more unstable and potentially dangerous.

"A new threat is taking a heavy toll on Bob who is grappling with his own relevance in a world of supers that may have outgrown him. Because even though supers are legal again, it doesn't mean all supers are good. The Incredibles, the Parr family will face off against a super villain with more power than all the family put together and all of us-", being cut off mid-sentence by the return of fan-favourite character Edna Mode.
