Love Island's Chris Hughes candidly reveals infertility fears
He's opened up in a new documentary
Love Island's Chris Hughes has opened up about his infertility fears in a new BBC documentary, after his girlfriend and Little Mix star Jesy Nelson revealed her battle struggling with online trolls in her documentary.
In the programme titled 'Me, My Brother and Our Balls', Chris discusses how he was diagnosed with Varicoceles, a testicular vein condition, which has left him with a low sperm count.
He also reveals now he underwent three operations to ease the condition as well as freezing his sperm.
Chris said, "Fertility is often a subject that guys don’t consider until it might be too late, so I’m hoping this documentary will raise awareness and help men who might be struggling with these issues."
Chris' brother Ben Hughes will also feature in the documentary, who was diagnosed with testicular cancer earlier this year.
The 26-year-old's confession comes after he said it would be a "life ambition" to have children with Jesy.
He said, "I guess we’d be fortunate to have one child, there’s a lot of people out there who don’t have that opportunity.
"I think we both want to get married. I think we found each other, and we have endless respect for each other, I think that’s why our relationship works."
He added, "We’re proper family people, we love each other’s family… I’m ready to settle down and I think she is."
The documentary is set to air early next year.
