Valentine's Day is right around the corner, and in the run up to the loved-up day, Michael Bublé has revealed his terrible Valentine's Day present choice.

When it comes to Michael Bublé, most people will associate him with some fantastic songs including his hits 'Haven't Met You Yet' and 'Hollywood' and several of his songs have been chosen as a happy couple's first dance at their wedding.

However, sharing a video on Instagram, Michael revealed the worst Valentine's Day present he gave his wife. And by his own admission, it is probably one of the least romantic presents he could have chosen... a microwave egg poacher!

The singer said: "So, it's almost Valentine's Day and you may think because I write romantic songs and things, that this holiday is like some kind of breeze. Wrong! Once for Valentine's Day I thought it would be a great idea to buy my wife a microwave egg poacher."

He continued: "A microwave egg poacher."

Michael went on to say how, despite being under the illusion it would be a 'fun gift', his wife didn't like it!

With the news of this unusual and very unromantic present, Michael's fans were quick to suggest better presents. One wrote: 'Buy her a diamond. It's what she really wants!!!', another wrote: 'Ideas…Spending time together, plan a trip, dinner out, flowers a must, jewelry, beautiful card, write a poem, tell her what you love about her, sentimental gift, hold the car door for her. If you do it all, you will be one happy man!' (sic)

However other fans decided to reveal some of the more unusual gifts they've received with on writing: 'One time I got a bowling alley gift card for Valentine’s Day. I just had back surgery. #mbmyvalebtine', and another saying: 'Hillarious. It's like when I got pots and pans for Christmas.' (sic)

Michael shared the video asking fans to nominate their partner for a Romance Roundtable Discussion with Michael.

Now take a look at 9 things you probably didn't know about Valentine's Day:

Every year around 1000 letters are sent to 'Juliet' in the Italian city of Verona where Romeo and Juliet was set. It has become so popular that now the Club di Giulietta (Juliet Club) has taken over replying to the letters. Every year they also award a prize 'Cara Giulietta' ('Dear Juliet') for the most compelling letter received during the previous year.
