He rose to fame on Britain's Got Talent
Calum Scott is a singer-songwriter who found success after appearing on Britain's Got Talent, back in 2015. Since releasing his cover of Robyn's 'Dancing On My Own', Calum has now seen success with plenty of other hits like 'Where Are You Now' with Lost Frequencies, 'Whistle' with Jax Jones and 'You Are The Reason'.

How did Calum Scott become famous?
The former recruitment officer, from Beverley in East Yorkshire, auditioned for Britain's Got Talent back in 2015. His sister, who played drums encouraged Calum to sing, and when he performed in front of the judges he blew them away with his rendition of Robyn's 'Dancing On My Own'.
The judges loved his performance so much they sent him into the next round, and he ended the competition in sixth place.
Speaking about his audition, Calum told us: "I walk on (the stage), and I'm still fuming at Simon, because he made my little sister cry. If you watch it, it's only a millisecond... I'm looking through Simon Cowell's soul at this moment. Go and check it out for yourself!"

Calum was born on 12th October 1988, making him currently 37-years-old.
Recent music
In 2024, Calum released 'Lighthouse', 'Roots' and 'My World' from his third album 'Avenoir'. He also released 'Then There Was You' from The Garfield Movie in May and teamed up with Leona Lewis to release a cover of Supertramp's 'Give A Little Bit', in aid of poverty and pollution charity The Multibank.
In 2025 he released 'God Knows', 'Die For You' and 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody', a reimagined duet with Whitney Houston. All three appear on his third album.

In August 2025, Calum announced he would be releasing 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody', with the late pop icon Whitney Houston. The song, which was originally released in 1987, sees Calum duet with the late singer.

Calum has released a number of songs, but his most popular ones include his debut hit, 'Dancing On My Own', which he performed on Britain's Got Talent.
The song, which was released in April 2016 went to Number 2 in the UK, and became one of the most popular songs of the year.

Calum Scott's debut hit 'Dancing On My Own' was a cover of Robyn's 2010 song. The song went on to become one of the biggest songs of the year when it was released in 2016.

Calum Scott released 'You Are The Reason' back in 2017. The song's music video has now had a massive 1.2 billion views, with the duet with Leona Lewis racking up 644 million views. The original track was certified 3x Platinum in May 2025 with 1.8 million UK sales.

Calum Scott - 'No Matter What' (2018)
Although it didn't perform particularly well in the UK chart, Calum Scott's 2018 song 'No Matter What', was a huge hit on YouTube receiving more than 134 million views.

'Whistle' by Jax Jones featuring Calum Scott was released in early 2023. The song was a hit reaching Number 14 in the UK.

Calum Scott teamed up with Take That and Robin Schulz to release a reworking of the Take That classic, 'Greatest Day'. They performed it live at the King's Coronation.

Is Calum going on tour?
Yes! Calum's 'Avenoir Tour' got underway in October in Portugal, and will tour Europe (including dates in the UK and Ireland) before heading to North America.
The singer will perform in Manchester, London and Dublin in November 2025. The full dates are available on his website.
Calum also did a one-off gig in London on 12th March 2024, called 'The Songbook So Far'.
Calum supported Ed Sheeran on dates in Asia and Europe for his 'Mathematics Tour' in 2024. Calum was so excited to tell his fans, sharing a video saying: "I'm supporting Ed Sheeran... every week, in stadiums for six months. What the..."
Will Calum release a song with Ed Sheeran?
Despite touring with Ed, no collaboration has officially been announced, however, he did tell us about a song Ed Sheeran has written, and he sung the vocals for. The song was sent to David Guetta, who said he liked it!
Speaking to us, Calum said: "Ed wrote a song for David Guetta and I vocaled it, sent it to David and Ed (Sheeran) and David emailed me back and said: ‘You sound good. David.’ I was like I don’t know how to take that! I texted back and replied ‘I’m here if you need me. Calum.’ He’s not messaged back!"
How many albums has Calum released?
Calum has released three albums, his debut album 'Only Human' included his massive debut single, along with 'You Are the Reason' with Leona Lewis. 'Only Human' became a Top 5 album for Calum in 2018.
Four years later, in 2022, Calum released his follow-up 'Bridges' and in 2025, he dropped 'Avenoir'.
Calum's third album
Calum officially announced his third album 'Avenoir' on in April 2025 — releasing it five months later on 12th September. In a post on Instagram, he wrote: 'I can confirm my third studio album, ‘Avenoir’ is now available for pre-order!!!
'It has been a long 3 years to work on this album but this is the album I needed to make! I feel more ‘Calum Scott’ than I ever have before and I think you’ll hear that on this new record!!!' (sic)
Calum previously told us in a interview that he had been working towards his third album, saying he thinks of albums as "chapters" in his life.
He told us: "My first album ('Only Human') I was just like 'I can’t believe I get to do this'! I’ve gone from working at Hull City Council, literally talking about Sandra and her off street parking, to touring the world," he explained.
"Album two ('Bridges') was more mature, talked about some mental health issues and stuff and then this album I think I’ve spread my wings a bit, it’s a new era," he added.
