Last updated 13 hours ago
After four successful main series, and two very popular celebrity editions, BBC show Race Across the World was renewed for a fifth series last year, and now they've dropped the news that a sixth series will land in 2026!
Whilst bosses have dropped the first teaser trailer for the upcoming new series, which is expected to begin in April, applications for the sixth series are due to close very soon.
How do I apply?
Applications for series five are now over, but applications for series six of Race Across The World are open still.
The application website states: 'We are now accepting applications for the next series of Race Across the World. This experience is open to all, whether you’re a seasoned traveller or total novice. We want to hear what undertaking a trip like this would mean to you, and with a cash prize at stake, to what lengths you would go to win.
'Maybe you’re looking to change something in your life? Or are keen to share the journey with someone special like a family member, best friend, or someone you’ve lost touch with. You may even have a very personal reason for wanting to travel at this time in your life or want to explore a particular part of the world'.
Applications are due to close on Sunday 6th April 2025.
When will it be on TV?
Although there's no exact start date, series five is due to begin sometime in April 2025.
The 11-second teaser trailer, which has been shared by Super TV on X, shows this year's pairs attempting to navigate around the unknown location, as the words 'Goodbye Comfort Zone' flash across the screens.
Series six is expected in 2026.
What is the route?
BBC bosses are yet to unveil the location and route for series five, but the show was filmed over an eight week stint between October and December 2024.
