MAFS Australia's Billy and Awhina are now dating
And he's met her son!
Although the 2025 series of Married At First Sight Australia was packed to the brim with non-stop drama, series 12 wasn't exactly a success for the participants, with Rhi Disljenkovic and Jeff Gobbels the only couple who stayed together after filming.
Despite this, a number of the cast have seemingly found love with co-stars they weren't matched with, including Jacqui Burfoot and Clint Rice, who are now engaged and due to get married in 2026.
Are Billy and Awhina dating?
Now, after months of teases, 2025 cast members Awhina Rutene and Billy Belcher have confirmed they are now dating, with Awhina even introducing Billy to her six-year-old son, Landon.
Rumours about the pair's romance had been swirling due to the pair posting a number of TikTok videos together, including Awhina's son, after she previously said she wouldn't allow her MAFS husband Adrian Araouzou to meet him.
In June, Awhina then seemed to confirm the romance with Billy, sharing photos on Instagram alongside the caption: 'I’ll keep this one 🤭'.
After Billy thanked their followers for the love and support they've received, the pair have now spoken to Yahoo Lifestyle, where 30-year-old Awhina revealed it’s a big deal for someone to meet her son.
She said: "I’ve never introduced anyone I’ve been intimate with to my son before."
Billy has also gushed about the pair's relationship to Australian publication Women's Day, saying: "Obviously, we’ve got good chemistry and we do have a good connection. It’s very natural with me and Fee.
“Whenever we’re together, we are laughing, we are smiling. We’re as close as can be.
"Obviously I’ve seen Fee go through a lot and so it wasn’t like, let’s try and crack on. I don’t think that’s the right time to be doing anything like that."
Awhina also spoke about the decision to allow Billy to meet her son, saying: “I introduced Billy to Landon around November last year, when we were still filming. They get on so well, Landon loves Billy.”
As MAFS Australia fans will know, Awhina was paired with Adrian during the series 12 experiment, and despite a rocky journey throughout, they did make it all the way to the final vow ceremony.
In one of the strangest vows to ever grace the show, the pair both chose to walk away due to the distance between them, before immediately changing their minds and walking off hand-in-hand, determined to make things work.
However, in another twist, by the time the reunion arrived, the pair had decided to split.
Meanwhile, British lad Billy was matched with Sierah Swepstone by the experts, with things looking very positive for the pair during the first part of the experiment.
As the experiment went on, the pair realised they weren't right for one another, with Sierah admitting she couldn't emotionally open up to her husband. This resulted in them leaving the experiment at the third commitment ceremony.
Check out which MAFS Australia couples are still together:
Erin Bateman and Bryce Mohr: Series 2
The couple met way back in season two in 2016 and are still going strong. The pair prefer to remain out of the spotlight, but they are happily living together in Melbourne.
Jules Robinson and Cameron Merchant: Series 6
Oh, Cameron and Jules. From the minute Jules and Cam had their first wedding dance without any music, we had an inkling they were in it for the long haul. And we were right! The pair got married properly after the show, and they are now proud parents to sons Ollie and Carter.
Martha Kalifatidis and Michael Brunelli: Series 6
Martha and Michael were an extremely drama free pair (in comparison to everyone else) so it's no shock that they have actually managed to stay together. They are now living together in Sydney whilst becoming full-time influencers. The couple are now engaged and welcomed a son called Lucius in February 2023.
Melissa Rawson and Bryce Ruthven: Series 8
Despite Bryce repeatedly putting down Melissa's appearance during the show and more dramatic showdowns than we've had hot dinners - the on-off couple are surprisingly stronger then ever. The pair welcomed twin boys called Levi and Tate in 2021, before getting married for real in February 2023.
Kerry Knight and Johnny Balbuziente: Series 8
Kerry and Johnny were an intruder couple on series eight of MAFS Aus, and following a pretty drama free experiment, the pair left the show as an official couple. The pair went to get married for real in January 2023, before welcoming a daughter called Chloe Rossi Balbuziente in June 2024.
Jade Barredo and Ridge Pywell: Series 11
Jade and Ridge entered the MAFS experiment as an intruder couple during the 11th series in 2023. The couple made it all the way to the final vows and have remained together to this day. In May 2024, Ridge announced he'd moved in with Jade and her daughter Victoria, and the pair have spoken about getting married for real in the future.
Rhi Disljenkovic and Jeff Gobbels: Series 12
In a MAFS first, it actually wasn't 'married at first sight' for series 12 contestants Rhi and Jeff, as shockingly the pair had previously dated before signing up for the experiment. Despite having reservations at first, Rhi and Jeff sailed through the experiment and were one of the most successful couples during the 2025 series. Although it is early days in their relationship, the pair have already moved in together and they look happier than ever!
