Tate McRae has now released the follow-up to 'Greedy' called 'Exes'. The song was only announced earlier this week, when Tate told her fans: 'kisses to my xx 🖤 “exes” this friday. 11/17'. (sic)
Her news was met with huge excitement, which included a message from Olivia Rodrigo, who wrote: 'I love you mucho', and another fan who wrote: 'friday CANNOT come fast enough'. (sic)
Now that the song has dropped, Tate has told her fans: '"EXES” song and video out now !!!!!!!! so beyond excited for u guys to see this music video.' She went on to say: 'i hope u love it we had so much fun creating it'. (sic)

On the same day the song was released, Tate also released the music video which features herself and a number of dancers in a boxing ring.

2016: So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation
At the age of just 13, Tate McRae became the first Canadian finalist on the American TV show So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation. The programme, hosted by Cat Deeley, saw children aged eight to 13 compete to win the show. Tate ended up in third place, mentored by American actress and dancer Kathryn McCormick (pictured left), dancing Contemporary/Ballet.
2019: 'one day' video goes viral
Back in 2019, Tate uploaded a video on YouTube which went viral. The video was for her song 'one day' and has now had more than 40 million views. The success of this video got Tate's talent noticed and she released her debut EP a year later called 'All the Things I Never Said', featuring song 'Tear Myself Apart' which was written by Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas.

2020: Forbes' 30 Under 30
Forbes' 30 Under 30 included Tate in 2020 at the age of 17, making her the youngest musician to ever be included in the list - which highlights the world's most successful entrepreneurs under the age of 30. She shared the news on Instagram, writing: 'wowowowow!!!!! WHATT just found out i'm in @forbes 30 UNDER 30 as the youngest musician🤯🤯🤯 what an honor !!!!' (sic)
2020-2021: 'You Broke Me First' and second EP
Tate McRae released 'You Broke Me First' in 2020. It was the lead single from her second EP, 'Too Young to Be Sad'. The song was hugely popular and an international hit for the singer, reaching Number 3 in the UK and amassing over 320 million views on YouTube as well as over a million views on TikTok. The EP was then released in 2021 and became an immediate hit, making it the most streamed female EP of 2021.
2022: 'she’s all i wanna be'
Tate released 'She's All I Wanna Be' as the second single from her debut album 'I Used to Think I Could Fly'. This alternative-pop track showcases Tate's songwriting skills as she worked for the first time with Grammy Award-winner songwriter/producer Greg Kurstin, who has also worked with Sia, Kelly Clarkson, Halsey, Maren Morris, Paul McCartney, Pink, and Lily Allen. It went to Number 14 in the UK and has been certified Platinum by the BPI.
2022: 'chaotic' and debut album release date
Tate dropped her song 'chaotic' on 25th March 2022 along with a visualiser video showing her stuck on a burning plane. The fiery theme continued as she posted a photo of herself posing on a burning plane wing with the exciting announcement that her album 'I used to think I could fly' would be released on 27th May 2022. It went to Number 7 in the UK charts and has been certified Silver by the BPI with 60,000 sales.
2022: UK tour dates
Tate embarked on her UK tour on 12th June 2022 in Manchester, continuing on to Birmingham, London and Glasgow. Tate was also due to join Shawn Mendes on tour as a special guest on his 'Wonder: The World Tour', but Shawn unfortunately had to cancel the tour.
2023: Second album 'Think Later'
Tate released her second album 'Think Later' on 8th December 2023, featuring singles 'Greedy' and 'Exes'. Tate told us that the album was "vastly different. The attitude and the vibe of the album is like the complete opposite side of my personality (from) my last album, which is very exciting to play with and write. You can hear that in the songs like I definitely show a side of me, that's a bit more savage out there." The record went to Number 5 in the UK and has received a Gold certification by the BPI with 100,000 UK sales.
2024: Tate McRae performed at The BRIT Awards 2024
Tate McRae performed at The BRIT Awards 2024, where her song 'greedy' was also nominated for Best International Song - sadly losing out to 'Flowers' by Miley Cyrus.
2024: 'Think Later' world tour
In support of her second album 'Think Later', Tate went on a world tour which started in April 2024, with the singer performing several venues across the UK and Ireland like Dublin, Glasgow, London, Manchester and Wolverhampton, before moving on to Europe and the rest of the world. She played a total of 65 gigs, finishing in New Zealand in November 2024.
She also won Artist of the Year and Single of the Year for 'greedy' at the 2024 Juno Awards, one of the biggest music awards ceremonies in Tate's home country of Canada. Having been nominated for the three years prior in various categories at the Junos, it was a huge honour for Tate to take home two gongs in 2024.
2025: 'Miss Possessive World Tour'
Tate went on yet another world tour in 2025, venturing out once again in March 2025 for the 'Miss Possessive World Tour' and performing in the UK and Ireland at venues in Dublin, Birmingham, London, Glasgow and Manchester in May, as well as Nottingham, London and Manchester in June. She continued her tour through to November 2025, having played a total of 83 gigs across Europe, the US and Canada, and was supported by Zara Larsson.
At the 2025 Juno Awards, Tate once again took home the coveted Artist of the Year, additionally winning Album of the Year and Pop Album of the Year for 'Think Later'.
