FLO drop 'Fly Girl' featuring Missy Elliott along with the music video
It's the latest song from the BRIT Award winners
Following their BRIT Award win, FLO have now released a new song called 'Fly Away' and it features none other than Missy Elliott. The group shared the artwork for their new song this week with the caption: 'Fly Girl 💅🏾 23.03.23'.
Fans and celebrity friends of the group took to the comments to share their excitement at the song with songwriter Kamille writing: 'Iconic 🔥🔥🔥🔥', and Nina Nesbitt saying: '!!!!!!'.
Another fan wrote: 'styling and aesthetic ugh so good'. (sic)
FLO then dropped the music video along with their song on 24th March. The song takes inspiration from Missy Elliott's iconic song 'Work It', and when she heard 'Fly Girl' she decided to lay down a new rap for the girls.
Watch the music video for FLO's 'Fly Girl':
Speaking about working with FLO, Missy Elliott said: "(It's) been nothing less than amazing. I remember a few of their fans sent me clips of their performances, and I immediately felt the authentic 90’s vibe.
"I loved the fact they all sang lead so well - great vocal control - so when I was asked to be a part of the ‘Fly Girl’ record, it was a no brainer. They used the inspiration from my song ‘Work It’, and I felt they did it justice. I enjoyed it and I believe they have a long, great career ahead of them."
What is 'Fly Girl' about?
FLO added: "'Fly Girl' is all about confidence, good vibes and feeling your best. It’s a lively, feel good song that still incorporates clever lyrics and fire vocals, if we do say so ourselves. It’s quite literally a perfect fusion of old school meets modern day rnb, with a nod to and feature from the original fly girl Missy Elliott herself.
"We love it and are so happy to be putting out a song that can hopefully make whoever plays it feel confident and most importantly, FLY."
