It's safe to say Disney-inspired names have always been popular with new parents, but in recent years there's been a huge rise, mainly thanks to influence from celebrities such as Stacey Solomon, Dwayne Johnson, and Giovanna Fletcher.

More recently, celebs like Molly-Mae Hague and Stacey Dooley have also taken inspiration from popular Disney characters, with research revealing names such as Aurora, Nala, and Remi will become more and more popular in the coming years.

Take a look at which celebrities have chosen Disney-inspired names for their children:

Rex: Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash

Stacey and Joe chose the name Rex for their son who was born in May 2019, with the couple taking inspiration from Woody's dinosaur friend in the movie Toy Story.

Belle: Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash

Four years later in 2023, Stacey and Joe welcomed their third child together, a baby girl called Belle! As Disney fans will know, Belle is the name of the Princess in hit movie Beauty and the Beast.

Bambi: Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury

Love Island 2019 runners-up Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury decided on the name Bambi for their baby girl, when the couple welcomed her into the world in February 2023. Molly later confessed she'd loved the name since she was a little girl, admitting there was no other name option.

Minnie: Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton

After meeting on Strictly Come Dancing, Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton welcomed a baby girl in January 2023, revealing they'd chosen the adorable name of Minnie.

Buzz: Giovanni and Tom Fletcher

McFly singer Tom Fletcher and his wife Giovanna are such big fans of the movie Toy Story, they chose the name Buzz for their first born son in 2014, naming him after the iconic character of Buzz Lightyear.

Rex: Fearne Cotton and Jesse Wood

TV and radio presenter Fearne Cotton and her husband Jesse Wood also chose the Disney-inspired name Rex for their son, taken from Toy Story.

Esmeralda: Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling

Hollywood couple Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling chose the name Esmeralda for their first-born daughter in 2014. Esmeralda is the name of the main character from 1996 movie The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Jasmine and Tiana: Dwayne Johnson and Lauren Hashian

As well as voicing the character of Maui in Disney movie Moana, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson also took inspiration from Disney for two of his daughter's names. Dwayne and his wife Lauren chose the names Jasmine and Tiana, popular from the movies Aladdin and The Princess and the Frog.

Aurora: Troian Bellisario and Patrick J Adams

Actors Troian Bellisario and Patrick J Adams chose the name Aurora for their first-born daughter in 2018. As Disney fans will know, Princess Aurora is from the movie Sleeping Beauty.

Flynn: Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom

Former couple Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom called their son Flynn when he was born in 2011. Flynn Rider is the fictional character from 2010 Disney movie Tangled.

Belle: Katie Piper

Before her co-star Stacey Solomon did, Loose Women star Katie Piper and her husband Richard James Sutton called their first-born baby Belle in 2014.

As research conducted by children’s toy retailer The Kid Collective has proven, Disney-inspired baby names are once again on the rise.
