How to celebrate your birthday in lockdown 🎉
It will definitely be one to remember
Last updated 8th Jan 2021
Despite a lot of people now working from home, and social distancing still taking place due to the Coronavirus, normal life must go on to a certain extent. So, if your birthday is coming up, how can you still have a fun time without your friends physically there?
We know a lot of you have birthdays on the horizon, so take a look at some different ways to enjoy your day, whether it's having a pamper day at home, or celebrating with friends over video call.
While your birthday might not be quite how you wanted to celebrate it, why not get a half-birthday party date in the calendar?
Here are 7 ways to celebrate your birthday in self-isolation:
Turn on Hits Radio to have a party
Turn on Hits Radio to get your weekend started!
Video call your friends
There are plenty of apps you can use to video call your friends, try WhatsApp, Skype or FaceTime if you're on an Apple device.
Have a virtual slumber party
'Sit down' with your mates and watch a film together. There are plenty of websites you can use to watch the same programme or film with your friends. Services with Netflix Party and Kast will enable you to chat to your friends while you're watching something.
Stream your favourite festival on your TV
We've all seen the Australian couple who have missed out on their cruise, replacing it with their TV, so why not do the same with your favourite music festival?
Turn up the tunes (being considerate for your neighbours of course), and enjoy a party in your living room.
Pamper yourself
Just because you're by yourself doesn't mean you can't treat yourself to a hot bath, or even a massage if you have a machine!
Celebrate with your pet
If you've got a pet, whether it's a dog, cat, or hamster, why not celebrate with them?! Granted they might not understand the reason for your celebration, but they'll probably join in by playing with some wrapping paper.
Get loads of birthday freebies
You might not be able to go out, so why not request loads of freebies or discounts for your birthday. All sorts of places will provide a discount if it's your special day, from The Body Shop to TopShop.
Stay safe! ❤️
