How to watch series 2 of BBC drama The Tourist with Jamie Dornan
Binge the entire series
Following the first series of twisty drama in The Tourist in 2022, with Northern Irish actor Jamie Dornan, BBC bosses were quick to renew the show for a second instalment, with six more episodes dropping on New Year's Day in 2024.
Although series two didn't quite get the positive reviews like the first instalment, with many calling it "lacklustre", The Tourist still captivated viewers with the story of main characters, Elliot Stanley (Jamie Dornan) and Helen Chambers (Danielle Macdonald).

Where was series two of The Tourist filmed?
News of production starting was confirmed by the BBC on social media in April 2023, where they also announced some brand new cast members.
The post read: '🎬 ROLLING! Filming began in Dublin, Ireland, on the highly anticipated second series of The Tourist this week, with new cast confirmed to join Jamie Dornan and Danielle MacDonald'. (sic)
Series two moved from the Australia outback to Ireland for filming, with a number of landmarks acting as filming locations. Locations included County Wicklow, Dublin, Achill Island, County Westmeath and Djouce.
Who is in the cast of The Tourist series two?
As well as both Jamie Dornan and Danielle Macdonald reprising their roles for series two, Conor MacNeill, Olwen Fouéré, Francis Magee, Mark McKenna, Diarmaid Murtagh, and Nessa Matthews joined the cast.
Actor Greg Larsen also reprised his role as Ethan Krum.
Speaking about his return, Jamie said: "I’m incredibly excited to continue the story with The Tourist. Harry and Jack Williams are brilliant writers, and I can’t wait for audiences to see how well Ireland and it’s characters are utilised to keep them guessing as the tale progresses…"
Actress Danielle Macdonald, who plays the role of Helen in the show, also returned as series two sees the pair travel to Ireland to discover Elliot's family history.
She said: "I’m so excited to team up with Jamie again and return for another wild adventure with an amazing cast and crew. Jack and Harry Williams are brilliant story tellers and it’s exciting to see what their minds will come up with next.”
Was The Tourist popular?
The BBC's Chief Content Office Charlotte Moore gushed about the show's amazing viewing figures following series one in 2022, telling the Radio Times: "In its first 30 days, 12 million people watched The Tourist – that’s twice as big as the largest show, Stay Close, on Netflix.
"The power that the BBC has to reach millions of people is far greater than we perhaps realise."
What happened on series one of The Tourist?
The Tourist, which also featured actors Shalom Brune-Franklin, Alex Dimitriades and Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, first hit our screens on New Year's Day in 2022, with six episodes in total.
The series follows 'The Man' (Jamie Dornan), who wakes up in the Australian outback with amnesia following a car accident. Using the few clues he has, The Man attempts discover his identity before his past catches up with him.
Despite admitting there were no originally plans for a second series, writers Harry and Jack Williams told Radio Times last year: "We are talking about how we could return to this world, aren't we?"
Harry added: "Yeah, this world and this tone. I feel like we're not done with that."
Although it's not yet been revealed when we can expect series two to land on our screens, we suspect it could be later this year.
