RuPaul’s Drag Race UK judge Alan Carr has said the hit TV series is his “happy place”.
The hugely successful show returns to our screens on Thursday 14th January as a brand-new line up of queens hit the runway to battle it out for the crown.
Drag Race sashayed onto UK screens for the first time in 2019 which saw British Drag Queen The Vivienne claim the ultimate prize.
In 2021, RuPaul and Michelle Visage will resume judging duties and will once more be joined by TV presenters Graham Norton and Alan Carr on the panel. Each week, the panel will also welcome along a special celebrity guest.
Hits Radio’s Jordan Lee chatted to Drag Race stars Michelle Visage and Alan Carr ahead of the launch.
Alan said: “In these really scary times, I think it’s so important for us all now to go to a place, RuPaul’s Drag Race is my happy place, and I’m glad it’s the majority of other people’s happy places too.”
“Just a bit of glitter and escapism and a family. I feel safe here and that is what we all need right now. Our arms are open, please come and join us and have the best time ever!”
Fellow judge Michelle Visage added: “You can watch us and escape and know that you’re loved and welcomed and you can forget about what is going on outside.”
