Applications have just opened for a new series of Pointless, as the popular TV show approaches its 2,000th episode. Prospective contestants are being urged to apply soon, as casting will start before the closing date of 12th September.
Remarkable Entertainment, who also work on popular shows such as Tipping Point and Deal or No Deal, produce Pointless for the BBC, and have revealed they are looking for people who know the 'obscurest of information'.
Writing on the application website: 'Do you have a friend, colleague or family member who knows the obscurest of information? Or is that person you? Then you're in the right place! Apply now for the new series of BBC1's Pointless to be in with a chance of winning the show jackpot and a coveted Pointless trophy!'
This exciting news comes just a few weeks ahead of the show's 2,000th episode, which is set to air on 2nd August 2025.
What is Pointless?
Pointless first arrived on our screens back in 2009, and has seen huge success since then, with a massive 33 regular series and 17 celebrity series, featuring the likes of Gok Wan, Richard Osman, Chris Ramsey, Gabby Logan and Josh Widdicombe.
The show sees teams of two going head-to-head, flipping the traditional quiz format on its head. Ahead of the show, 100 people are asked a question, and the aim is for the teams to give a 'pointless' answer, that nobody gave.
Who presents Pointless?
The TV series is presented by Alexander Armstrong. The first 27 series were co-presented by Richard Osman, who stepped down in 2022.
