Olivia Attwood breaks silence over I'm A Celeb return
She was forced to quit the 2022 series
Last updated 13th Nov 2023
After being forced to quit last year's series of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! after only 24 hours, former Love Island star Olivia Attwood confirmed earlier this year she had 'held talks' with bosses for a return, leaving fans very excited!
And after Olivia was spotted at Manchester airport over the weekend, many thought she was heading over to Australia ahead of the launch show on Sunday 19th November.
However, 32-year-old Olivia has now broken her silence on the rumours, denying reports she's heading back to the jungle for the 2023 series.
Sharing a statement on her Instagram Story whilst in the air, she wrote: 'I wasn't going to talk about anything jungle related because if I'm honest, the way things played out last year still makes my heart hurt... and brain.
'I have been avoiding Instagram, but the sheer volume of you messaging about the show, commenting and meeting you in person etc I feel like it's wrong not to speak to you guys.'
She continued: 'I couldn't commit to going back this year. It wasn't the right time for me.
'There were many things that I had to weigh up, but ultimately the sheer intensity of my schedule doesn't allow for that much time 'out of the office...
'I read all your messages about the show, your support and love I will never ever take for granted.
'One day I hope when the time is right. We can finish my jungle story.. for you guys and for myself.
'Now seems like a good time to let my hair down for a few days. I am burstinggg screaming crying at the seamssss to share with you the tele things I have coming.' (sic)
Olivia sent fans into overdrive back in August when she appeared on Loose Women to reveal she'd 'held talks' with I'm A Celeb bosses.
When asked about a possible return to the show by co-host Judi Love, Olivia said: "We've had chats", prompting an excited reaction from the audience.
Despite starting the show positively last year, a routine health check revealed that Olivia had low blood pressure and other concerning measurements, meaning that insurers refused to cover her time on the show.
Addressing her controversial exit on Jamie Laing's Private Parts podcast earlier this year, she said: "It was basically a massive f--- up really.
"I was in there, I was fine, and they do routine medicals every few days. We'd had a really long day and I'm always on the lower end of blood pressure because I'm tall and slim, and they just did all these tests late one evening, and they were just like, they were worried about these tests.
"They were like, 'Everything is really low.' They took me to a private hospital and they tested me, and they were like, 'We're happy'. So we had an overnight debate because the insurers were like, 'The tests dropped this low.'
"I don't cry, and I cried the whole way back from Australia. The whole flight."
