The new documentary is out now
Last updated 28th Sep 2021
It was only yesterday last week when Netflix teased a brand new upcoming documentary titled Britney vs Spears, sharing a cryptic clip of Britney Spears discussing her conservatorship with a lawyer. As promised, the streaming platform have now provided us with the full documentary.
Landing today (28th September), fans can expect to hear detailed information about Britney's conservatorship, which sees her father control her life and finances. Captioning the trailer, Netflix wrote: 'Britney vs Spears No more secrets. No more silence. Britney vs Spears is on Netflix 9/28'.
In the 78-second trailer, we hear a voice narrate: "Britney had a fear that her family would barge in and take everything" before continuing: "What was going on inside the conservatorship - and why was she still in one if she was 'okay'?"
We then hear the Britney herself say: "I have worked my whole life. I don't owe these people anything."
Earlier this year, Britney addressed the court in hopes of ending her 13-year long conservatorship. Sadly, a judge denied the singer's request to remove her father's controls.
In September 2021, however, Britney's father formally filed to end the conservatorship, writing that she is: 'entitled to have this court now seriously consider whether this conservatorship is no longer required.'
The news comes shortly after the wonderful news that Britney and her boyfriend Sam Asghari are engaged! The singer shared an adorable clip of the pair looking extremely excited, as she showed off her new diamond ring.
Britney vs Spears is available to stream on Netflix now.
