Earlier this week, Love Island 2017 star Tyla Carr accused the popular dating show of being staged, after admitting in an interview that some of the dramatic moments were often 're-shot' and that bosses nudged the Islanders into things.

However, after the dramatic week on the show, bosses at ITV2 have now hit back at the claims, denying them profusely.

In a statement to OK! Online, a representative for the show said, "It is absolutely untrue to suggest that Love Island is fake. The opinions they have and the relationships formed are completely within the control of the Islanders themselves."

It comes after Tyla, who coupled up with Jonny Mitchell on last year's show, told the Daily Star, “They tell you what they want you to talk about, and who with.

"You have to tell the producers on site if you are planning to have an important chat or do something, so they make sure the microphones pick it up and the cameras get it."

Meanwhile, Love Island fever is sweeping the nation at the moment, with last night's INTENSE recoupling leaving fans with all sorts of emotions.

As Caroline Flack entered the villa for the latest recoupling, viewers witnessed one of the most emotional episodes of the 2018 series so far.

After dumping Laura in favour of Megan last week, karma hit Wes when he stayed loyal to Megan, despite the fact she'd decided to couple up with new boy Alex.

And the drama didn't end there, the whole nation breathed a sigh of relief when both Jack and Dani stayed loyal to each other, and were left completely heartbroken for poor old Georgia after Josh coupled up with new girl Kazmir, leaving her single.

After seeing the drama unfold, fans were quick to express their thoughts on Twitter...

After last night's recoupling, the new couples are:

Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham

Megan Barton Hanson and Alex Miller

Laura Anderson and Jack Fowler

Samira Mighty and Frankie Foster

Sam Bird and Ellie Jones

Ellie Brown and Charlie Brake

Dr Alex George and Grace Wardle

Adam Collard and Darylle Sargeant

Josh Denzel and Kazimir Crossley

Georgia and Wes are now both single.
