Love Island fans shocked at contestant Kai Fagan's real age
Some even accused him of lying!
Love Island fans breathed a huge sigh on relief last night (16th January) as the Winter series of the show returned to our screens. Welcoming 10 singletons to the new villa in South Africa, we got to know the new Islanders that are on a mission to find love. But one Islander - Kai Fagan to be precise - particularly caught the eyes of viewers due to one main factor...
After seeing the new contestants pair up in their first couples, we got to know the Islanders a little better, when Kai - who is a Science and PE teacher from Manchester - revealed that he is 24-years-old, shocking plenty of viewers at home.
Of course, fans took to Twitter to express their surprise, joking that Kai is 'lying' about his age, stating they think he looks a lot older.
One viewer wrote: 'Nahhh Kai is not 24. Check that birth certificate now' (sic), while another joked: 'Kai is 24???? Was he born in a leap year?' (sic).
With many thinking that Kai looks a lot older than the ripe age of 24, one fan expressed: 'I cannot believe Kai is 24, he looks at least 30, if not 35' (sic).
Another added: 'I don’t believe Kai is 24. That man is 35' (sic).
But that's not the only thing catching viewers' eyes, with many expressing they see a striking resemblance between him and former Islander Adam Collard.
As fans of Love Island will know, Adam is no stranger to the show, having entered the Mallorcan villa twice. Following the opening show, many joked that Adam had 'transformed' into Kai in order to give the South African season a go.
And it's not just fans who reckon the pair look similar, with Adam's ex-Love Island flame Zara McDermott also commenting on the resemblance. Dishing out her opinions on the show on her Instagram Story, she filmed Kai speaking to the girls and wrote: 'Is this Adam Collard reincarnated?!' (sic).
