Jack Whitehall steps down from The BRIT Awards
He's hosted the show since 2018
He's hosted the prestigious awards show since 2018, but comedian Jack Whitehall has today announced he's stepping down from The BRIT Awards.
Jack, who received mixed reviews for his controversial jokes at the ceremony over the last four years, confirmed he is unable to return for the 2022 awards as he will be working out in America at the time.
He tweeted: 'Sad to say after 4 brilliant years, I’ll be handing on the baton as I’ll be in the US filming another project at the top of next year. Loved doing it so much. All the best to the new host, I pray they treat Mursy, my mixers and sweet little Nialler with the respect they deserve.' (sic)
The news comes as organisers revealed the official date for the 2022 ceremony, confirming The BRIT Awards 2022 will take place on Tuesday 8th February at London's O2 Arena.
It's not yet been revealed who will take Jack's place at the helm, but we are certain organisers won't be short of options!
Over the years, the likes of Ant and Dec, Dermot O'Leary and Emma Willis, James Corden, Peter Kay, The Osbournes and Russell Brand have all hosted the prestigious show.

Despite the 2021 BRIT Awards being postponed until 11th May this year, due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, it was announced in mid-April that a 4000-strong crowd, made up of 2500 key workers, would be permitted as part of the Government's live events pilot scheme.
The event saw some of the biggest names in showbiz attend, including the likes of Taylor Swift, Little Mix, Harry Styles, Dua Lipa and Elton John.
