Felix Mallard: Everything you need to know about the Australian actor

He's even portrayed Harry Styles

Author: Georgie HollandPublished 26th Apr 2024

Australian actor Felix Mallard has made it look easy over the years. Having starred on Neighbours for four years, he subsequently landed a pretty major role in the US TV series Happy Together - where he played a role based on former One Direction singer Harry Styles. The actor has since starred in Netflix’s Locke & Key, as well as the popular dramedy Ginny & Georgia - which has now started filming for its third season.

The 26-year-old has definitely not shown any sign of stopping anytime soon - and with Ginny & Georgia confirming his return to the show for series three, we can't wait to see him appear as Marcus on our screens soon. So, to celebrate the actor's blossoming career, here's everything you need to know about the young star...

Who is Felix Mallard?

Felix Mallard is a 26-year-old Australian actor. He was born on 20th April 1998, and got his big break starring in Australian soap Neighbours in 2014.

The actor may now be more commonly recognised as playing the role of Marcus Baker in the Netflix show Ginny & Georgia, which returned for season two in 2023 and is now filming its third season.

What has he been in?

Neighbours

Well, Felix Mallard got his big break in Neighbours, starring as Ben Kirk (later Fitzgerald) in the soap from 2014 until 2018. Ben was the grandson of Neighbours stalwarts Karl and Susan Kennedy, but the character was written out of the soap after causing a devastating fire in his school, and ran away to escape blame.

Happy Together

In what we would call one of the biggest compliments EVER, Felix then went on to star as Cooper James in Happy Together - a character based on none other than the heartthrob that is Harry Styles. The show ran for one series in 2018 and was based on true events in Harry's life.

Although Cooper James is a fictional character, he really is based on the real Harry Styles. Cooper is based on Harry's life at the time when he was reportedly living in the basement of British music producer Ben Winston's home in the US, after separating from One Direction.

Apparently, Harry had been trying to avoid the press so stayed at Ben's home with him and his wife Meredith, who were able to help him keep a low profile. In the show, Ben is played by Damon Wayans Jr., who in the show is Cooper's accountant Jake, and his wife Meredith is called Claire and played by Amber Stevens West.

Locke & Key

After those two pretty huge gigs, Felix also landed himself a part in Netflix's Locke & Key, playing the mysterious role of Lucas Caravaggio. The show was renewed for a second and third series - with the latter serving as the final season.

All the Bright Places

We think at this point it's fairly safe to say that Felix has a strong relationship with Netflix, with the actor also featuring in the streaming service's 2020 film All the Bright Places, playing the role of bully Roamer.

Ginny & Georgia

Felix also appeared on our screens in another Netflix hit, Ginny & Georgia. Felix played the role of Marcus, who returned yet again as a main character when season two landed on 5th January 2023.

Thankfully, we'll be seeing more of Marcus in further seasons, with show bosses confirming his return to the show as season three began filming in April 2024.

Will there be another season of Ginny & Georgia?

Yes! Netflix delighted fans in May 2023 by confirming that not only will Ginny & Georgia be returning for a third series, but we will also be getting a fourth one, too! It has not yet been revealed when we can expect series three to hit our screens, however we do know that as of April 2024, filming is underway.

Who is Felix Mallard dating?

Ah, the question on all of our lips - does Felix have a girlfriend? Well... The short answer is... We think so. The actor he hinted at the fact he did back in March 2021, but has never disclosed who the lucky lady is, and has not discussed his love life since. In an interview with Young Hollywood about season one of Ginny & Georgia dropping on Netflix, the actor dropped the line: "Yeah, my girlfriend was straight on the jump." Sigh...

Despite the 26-year-old not letting slip on who his girlfriend is, fans have their theories (we're looking at you, former Neighbours co-star Zoe Cramond). Nothing, however, has been confirmed...
