The 2019 series of Dancing On Ice certainly didn't disappoint! As hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield returned, 12 celebrities tied up their ice skates in an attempt to be crowned the Dancing On Ice champion.

With Love Island's Wes Nelson, Strictly Come Dancing's James Jordan and X Factor star Saara Aalto, perform two skates each. First up was Wes, who completed an incredible fitness themed skate to Black Eyed Peas high-tempo hit 'Pump It'. The routine saw Wes skate alongside the professionals in perfect unison and earned him a perfect score from the judges. Judge Ashley Banjo said that he loved that Wes, "did so much difficult stuff that he made look effortless".

Next up was James Jordan, who last week got a perfect score of 80 out of 80 from two dances. James' challenge was to skate an Argentine Tango choreographed by Christopher Dean that also involved using a chair as a prop. The dancer managed to overcome his shoulder injury and achieved 39 out of 40 as Jason and Ashley both scored him 9.5 as they felt there was 'something missing'.

Saara Aalto then took to the ice, dancing to Britney Spears 'Circus' with a circus routine. She joined Wes at the top of the leader board with a perfect score. Jane said, "Tonight you just brought it all together, it was absolutely fantastic".

The three finalists were then free to pick their favourite routine to skate to again. Wes opted to reprise his Peter Pan themed skate to James Arthur and Anne-Marie's cover of 'Re-write The Stars' and scored another perfect score from the judges. James chose to skate to his perfect score winning skate to 'Do You Love Me?' and received a perfect score from the judges again.

Saara opted to perform her puppet inspired skate and got tens across the board for her flawless routine. From being in the skate-off three times to a perfect score, Saara was visibly overwhelmed and the judges were full of praise.

After a dance from all the previously eliminated celebrities, it was time to reveal who had finished third. Sadly for Saara and Hamish, they hadn't made it to the final skate. It was left to Wes and Vanessa and James and Alexandra to wow audiences with their interpretation of the Boléro, the skate that Torvill and Dean won Gold for and made history with at the 1984 Winter Olympics.

Both James and Wes would have been a worthy winner, but there can be only one...

Dancing On Ice 2019 winner: James Jordan

Dancing On Ice 2019 runner up: Wes Nelson

Which celebrities were eliminated from Dancing On Ice 2019?

Week 1: No elimiation

Week 2: Mark Little

Week 3: Richard Blackwood

Week 4: Didi Conn

Week 5: Saira Khan

Week 6: Gemma Collins

Week 7: Ryan Sidebottom and Jane Danson

Week 8: Melody Thornton

Week 9: Brian McFadden

After Jake Quickenden was crowned the winner in 2018, the 2019 series of Dancing On Ice has certainly been a dramatic one.

As well as a number of stars picking up injuries, including James Jordan, Brian McFadden, Melody Thornton, Ryan Sidebottom, Jane Danson, and Wes Nelson, TOWIE star Gemma Collins suffered THAT fall, and later continued her feud with judge Jason Gardiner.

However, despite all of the drama, all of the eliminated celebs returned for the final show and put on a great performance.

Meanwhile, although nothing has been officially confirmed by ITV, we hope that Dancing On Ice will return in 2020!
