After singer Sydnie Christmas was crowned the winner of series 17 in 2024, auditions for the 2025 series of Britain's Got Talent kicked off last year, finishing on 31st May 2025, crowning magician Harry Moulding the winner.

Here's a look back at series 18 of Britain's Got Talent...

When was BGT on TV?

It was announced in August 2024 that BGT would begin in the first quarter of the 2025, instead of its usual April-June slot. It finished on 31st May 2025.

In August last year, bosses said: "With more Britain’s Got Talent fun filled Saturday nights of entertainment than ever before, families across the nation will have the opportunity to celebrate and be entertained by the incredible diversity of British talent, and your brand could become a part of this cultural zeitgeist too."

Auditions

The audition stage of the competition started on Saturday 22nd February, running though until Saturday 19th April.

Live shows

The live shows started on Saturday 26th April, airing every Saturday night. The fourth Semi-Final moved to Sunday 18th May to accommodate for the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest.

In another change for the 2025 series, the five semi-finals and final all aired on Saturday nights, instead of being shown across one week. The live shows started on Saturday 26th April, airing every week until the final on Saturday 31st May.

When was the BGT 2025 final?

The final took place at 7pm on Saturday 31st May.

Which acts were in the Semi Finals?

Eight acts perform in each Semi Final across five weeks of live shows.

Who won in 2025?

The 2025 Britain's Got Talent winner was magician Harry Moulding. He won a spot on the Royal Variety Performance and a whopping £250,000 cash prize.

When were the auditions?

Auditions kicked off in Blackpool on Tuesday 15th October, at the iconic venue Winter Gardens.

Bosses wrote on social media: 'Britain, we're BACK! 🌟 The #BGT Series 18 Judge Auditions kick off tomorrow in Blackpool's iconic Winter Gardens. Will we see you there? 👀'. (sic)

Following the first day of auditions, bosses ramped up excitement by sharing a number of teasers from the show, including Simon, Amanda and KSI all hitting their golden buzzers on Day One!

Following the tragic and shock death of Liam Payne on 16th October, Simon Cowell made the decision to postpone BGT auditions on Thursday 17th October.

Ticket site Applause Store announced the news, writing: 'Due to the tragic passing of Liam Payne, BGT has decided to postpone today's auditions in Blackpool. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause'.

Although auditions resumed on Saturday 19th October, Simon wasn't in attendance as he took a break following Liam's death, with KSI, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli on the panel.

The remaining auditions resumed on Monday 7th January and took place every day until Monday 13th January.

Where was Britain's Got Talent filmed?

Auditions in Blackpool were filmed at Winter Gardens Blackpool.

The live shows were filmed at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith, London.

Who were the judges on Britain's Got Talent?

Bruno Tonioli, Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon all returned for the 2025 series. Singer, YouTuber and boxer KSI replaced Bruno on a number of the auditions, whilst he's busy filming Dancing With The Stars in America.

KSI said of his involvement: "I'm so excited to be a guest judge for BGT. When I got the call up, I couldn't believe it. I remember watching old BGT episodes and going from being amazed to laughing my a--e off. I'm buzzing to see all the fresh new talent, and I'll be sure to leave a mark."

KSI wasted no time in getting into the spirit of BGT, as he pressed his Golden Buzzer during the first day of auditions in Blackpool!

What channel was it on?

Britain's Got Talent aired on ITV/ITVX and STV/STV Player for viewers in Scotland.

What time was it on?

The show began at 7pm.

2025 Golden Buzzers

Simon Cowell

Simon used his Golden Buzzer during the first episode of the 2025 series, pressing it for 29-year-old singer Vinnie McKee. Vinnie performed a stunning version of The Proclaimers' classic hit 'I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)', blowing Simon away with his voice.

Simon bent the rules during the episode on Saturday 22nd March, hitting his Golden Buzzer for the second time for charity group Electric Umbrella. The group's performance of original song 'Acceptance' set the stage alight.

Ant and Dec

Ant and Dec also used their Golden Buzzer during the first episode, after they were impressed by 24-year-old impressionist Will Burns.

KSI

New judge KSI pressed his first ever Golden Buzzer for supermarket worker Stacey Leadbeatter. Her performance of Leona Lewis's 'Run' was amazing during the second episode.

Amanda Holden

11-year-old guitarist Olly Pearson showed off his skills as he performed hits from Queen, Van Halen and AC/DC, leading to Amanda hitting her Golden Buzzer.

Amanda succumbed to audience pressure during the final round of auditions, hitting the buzzer for a second time for audience member Max Fox, who spontaneously auditioned with a rendition of 'My Way'.

Alesha Dixon

Alesha pressed her Golden Buzzer for 21-year-old Linda Mudzenda, who gave an incredible performance of Lauren Daigle's 'You Say'.

Bruno Tonioli

Bruno hit his Golden Buzzer for14-year-old Maya Giotea from Romania. The talented teen performed a pitch-perfect rendition of Beyoncé's 'Listen'.

Team Golden Buzzer

All four judges bent the rules slightly for light show act The Blackouts, following their simply incredible performance.

Just days before the first Semi-Final on Saturday 19th April, BGT bosses announced that Golden Buzzers would be introduced into the live Semi-Finals for the first time in the show's history.

Announcing the news online, bosses wrote: 'PSA!! For the first time EVER, we’re bringing the Golden Buzzer to the #BGT Live Shows!✨

'Each night, one of the Judges or Ant & Dec, will take control of the Golden Buzzer, putting one act straight through to the Final 🤩 So, are you ready for it? The BGT Live Semi-Finals commence weekly from Saturday 26th April on @ITV 1, ITVX & @WeAreSTV.'

Who hosted Britain's Got Talent?

The loveable duo that are Ant and Dec returned to host the 2025 series. The boys appeared in a video uploaded to the official BGT Instagram page during the first day of auditions in Blackpool on Tuesday 15th October.

Break dancer George Sampson won the show in 2008 at the age of just 14-years-old.

Diversity

Dance group Diversity won the show in 2009, with Ashley Banjo going on to become a TV presenter.

Spellbound

The 2010 series also saw a dance group win in the form of Spellbound, pictured here performing with singer Katherine Jenkins that year.

Jai McDowall

Singer Jai McDowall won the show in 2011.

Ashleigh and Pudsey

Dog performing act Ashleigh and Pudsey were winners of the 2012 series. However, Pudsey sadly passed away in July 2017.

Attraction

Another dance group won over the public in 2013, as Attraction used shadows and puppets to create beautiful spectacles - pictured here with actor Terry Crews.

Collabro

Singing group Collabro wowed viewers in 2014 with their performances of musical theatre songs.

Jules and Matisse

Britain's Got Talent saw its second dog act winner in 2015 with Jules and Matisse.

Richard Jones

Magician Richard Jones won the hearts of the nation in 2016.

Tokio Myers

Pianist and music producer Tokio Myers won the show in 2017, pictured here with BGT judge Amanda Holden.

Lost Voice Guy

Lost Voice Guy, real name Lee Ridley, won in 2018.

Colin Thackery

Colin Thackery won Britain's Got Talent 2019 with a heartwarming performance of 'Love Changes Everything'.

Jon Courtenay

Comedy singer Jon Courtenay was crowned the winner of the 2020 series! Jon was a favourite from his very first audition, picking up Ant and Dec's Golden Buzzer!

Axel Blake

Simon Cowell's Golden Buzzer act, comedian Axel Blake, was crowned the 2022 winner of Britain's Got Talent, beating the likes of ventriloquist Jamie Leahy and singer Tom Ball.

Viggo Venn

Norwegian comedian Viggo Venn won the 2023 series of Britain's Got Talent with his high vis jacket inspired routine. He said he was happy to have captured 'Simon's heart' as well as the nation's.

Sydnie Christmas

Sydnie Christmas won the 2024 series of Britain's Got Talent, the singer who dreams of performing on the West End told Ant and Dec: "I cannot believe the amount of love that I've felt since it aired. I am overwhelmed with love and it is the most amazing thing.
"And I wish for one day that every single person in this room feels the way I do one day with this love. It's amazing, thank you so much!"
