Back in September 2024, Netflix revealed production had started, teasing one of the new faces joining the show, in the form of Australian actress Yerin Ha.

Who are the new characters in Bridgerton season four?
Bridgerton season four will see the addition of a handful of new characters. Yerin Ha, known for shows such as Halo and Bad Behaviour, is set to appear as the 'captivating and complicated' Sophie Baek - who has spent a large proportion of time working as a maid. Disguising herself in order to attend Violet Bridgerton's masquerade ball, however, she meets Benedict, and is soon dubbed the mesmerising Lady in Silver.
Although we don't know what twists and turns will come our way in Bridgerton season four, it is understood that Sophie will be the new love interest of Benedict, with him setting out to find the Lady in Silver.
In November 2025, a first look of Yerin in character was shared on Instagram, alongside the caption: 'Dearest Readers, it would seem we have a new face in the ton. This author can only wonder what we shall see of Miss Sophie Baek this season...'.
Also joining the cast will be Katie Leung - known for Harry Potter and Nightsleeper - who is set to play Lady Araminta Gun - a twice married and twice widowed woman with two girls debuting. Katie joins other newcomers Michelle Mao, who will play Rosamund Li, and Isabella Wei, who is taking on the role of Posy Li.
It is also understood that we'll be seeing more of characters Alice Mondrich (played by Emma Naomi) and the wonderful Brimsley (played by Hugh Sachs) in the upcoming season, as they are set to level up to main cast members.
When was Bridgerton season four filmed?
Show bosses confirmed on 16th September 2024 that production was underway, taking to socials to share images of starring actors Luke Thompson and Yerin Ha, writing: 'Esteemed members of the Ton, it is with great joy that we inform you that Bridgerton Season 4 is officially in production!'
Who will Bridgerton season four focus on?
Following the highly-anticipated drop of season three - which took us along the complicated storyline of Colin Bridgerton (played by Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (played by Nicola Coughlan), fans can now expect the fourth season to pick up Benedict's storyline - and, by the looks of things, what a story it'll be...
In July 2024, the news was shared to Netflix's Instagram account that Benedict Bridgerton's story would be the next to unfold on the popular series, with bosses writing: 'BENEDICT BRIDGERTON HAS ENTERED THE CHAT!!! benedict’s story is coming next season on Bridgerton 💖'. (sic)
With the official Bridgerton account also sharing the news, they wrote: 'It has been brought to this author’s attention that perhaps it is time to unmask the newest suitor of the marriage mart… Benedict Bridgerton's story is coming next season.'
In the short teaser clip, we also see bosses tease: 'Welcome to the marriage mart, Benedict', before hinting that we can expect to see Benedict suited and booted for a masquerade ball in season four.
The news was welcomed by fans with open arms, with the quirky and artistic Benedict becoming a fan favourite over the years. One fan took to the comments to exclaim: 'I am SO EXCITED', with another adding: 'omg omg omg Benedict 😍😍'. (sic)
With another fan gushing: 'Finally 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️', another joked: 'We need a Bank Holiday, now!'
What happened with Benedict in season three?
If, like us, you were glued to your screen for all eight episodes of the most recent season of Bridgerton, you will know that Benedict's love life took a bit of a turn, after meeting the widowed Lady Tilley Arnold - taking a different direction to his storyline in the book series.
With Lady Tilley introducing Benedict to her "dear friend Paul", the pair's relationship took a turn, before she opened up and revealed to Benedict that she wanted him all to herself. With the season briefly touching on his internal struggles with feeling like an outsider - both within his family and also society - the latest season also hinted at the second-born Bridgerton exploring his sexuality.
And, of course, after the wholesome ending to season three - we're looking at you, Colin and Penelope - there's a few familiar faces that we're going to want to catch up with, too!
Seasons one - three of Bridgerton are available to stream now on Netflix.
