First hitting the charts in 2000 with 'Overload' the Sugababes was originally made up of band members Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhán Donaghy. Over the years, various changes were made, before the three originals reformed as we see them today!

They've released tonnes of smash hits, including 'Round Round', 'Freak Like Me' and 'Push The Button' — and recently headlined Hits Radio Live. Here's everything you need to know about the band who've scored six Number 1 singles, and are heading out on tour in 2025...

The Sugababes' beginnings

Keisha and Mutya, along with Siobhán Donaghy started the Sugababes in 1998, when they were just 11 and 12-years-old, with Keisha admitting that they never wanted to be pop stars. Explaining to Gemma and Mike, the singer said: "We never wanted to be like celebrities, we were literally just girls. Me and Mutya met when we were eight-years-old, and so we were literally just singing in school.

"And then we got the opportunity to you know, go in the studio after school. There wasn't so much emphasis on the celebrity world back then. Remember, you didn't have X Factor and loads of things like that, so for us, we were able to, I guess keep humble, because the main goal was just we got to sing and make music."

Keisha continued: "I guess afterwards then you're like, we get to go on stage too! Oh we get to meet people like we grew up with, and that's when we kind of thought, 'oh OK, we're a little bit different'."

Throughout the years, the Sugababes have had six UK Number 1s and five Top 10 albums, including hits such as 'Push the Button', 'Round Round' and 'About You Now'.

The Sugababes' career

Throughout the years, the Sugababes have released eight albums, a massive 34 singles, and been on eight headline tours, as well as many other festivals and one-off gigs.

Going on to reflect on their career, the band reminisced about some of their most unforgettable performances, saying that Glastonbury was up there. Mutya explained: "Glastonbury is always one, yeah. Do you know what? I think a lot of the festivals we do, we've always had like different feels for them, and it's always been good."

Keisha added: "We've done Glastonbury maybe three times, Mutya and myself, we did well obviously, but to shut down a field one year, and come back again and do that... that was great."
