Sigala and MNEK release the lyric video for their disco-inspired collab 'Radio'
It's out now!
Last updated 6th Jan 2023
We're just a couple of months away from 'Every Cloud', Sigala's eagerly-awaited second album, and he's now given us another taster of what to expect from it.
Following on from the successes of 'Melody', 'Stay The Night' with Talia Mar and 'Living Without You' with David Guetta and Sam Ryder, Sigala has just released another fantastic collaboration, this time with MNEK.
What is the new collab from Sigala and MNEK called?
Sigala and MNEK's new song is called 'Radio'. The song was written by the pair and features MNEK's vocals.
What does 'Radio' sound like?
You can hear 'Radio' on Hits Radio, the lyric video is also on YouTube. The song has been described as having a French disco feel, as Sigala explained: "(It's) something that I really wanted to keep true to; not overproduce it. It's such a simple production, but it's unique as well, with that offbeat bass going all the way through. It throws back to early 2000s and late 90s stuff, and even disco."
When was 'Radio' released?
'Radio', which was released on 6th January, was co-created and sung by MNEK, who was a 'legend' according to Sigala.
Who wrote 'Radio'?
'Radio' was written by both Sigala and MNEK, speaking about his co-writer, Sigala said: "I've followed his career since day one, when I was at uni. He's somebody that I've always dreamed of working with.
"I spent about two hours making a beat, getting some nice chords, whilst he was just chilling. And then he was like, 'OK, just play it through.' He's on his phone, typing down lyrics, then he jumps on the microphone. And literally 20 minutes later, he had written pretty much the whole song – and the vocal is the one that he sang in two takes! Just incredible. I was honestly blown away. It was like being in the presence of true genius."
Who sings 'Radio'?
MNEK, known for hits such as 'Head & Heart' with Joel Corry, sings on 'Radio'.
When was the song written?
'Radio' was written a few years ago, according to MNEK: "Bruce (Sigala) and I wrote this song a few years ago. It was such a fun and easy session and it’s really cool how he evolved the song into the record you’re hearing today!"
When is Sigala's second album out?
Sigala will be releasing his second album 'Every Cloud' on 3rd March 2023. The album will include several songs he released last year, such as 'Melody', 'Stay The Night' with Talia Mar and 'Living Without You', with David Guetta and Sam Ryder, along with his 2020 hit 'Lasting Lover', with James Arthur, and his most recent release 'Radio' with MNEK.
