Sam Smith opens up about now feeling free to be authentic self

The one and only Sam Smith joined us at Hits Live Manchester and closed the show with some of their biggest hits including 'Dancing with a Stranger', 'Stay With Me' and of course their recent smash hit 'Unholy'. Before that, they stopped by for a chat with Tom Green to talk about their upcoming album.

Sam will release their fourth studio album 'Gloria' in January, before heading on tour, and speaking about their new music they said: "It's fully me, I think everything I've ever done has been authentically me but I was a little bit scared to show certain parts of my personality, I didn't feel safe to do it, so now I do, it's fully out."

Sam's latest track 'Unholy' has been a huge hit and has gone viral on TikTok. Commenting on being on TikTok, Sam said: "I am enjoying TikTok myself, it’s an authentic relationship I promise, I enjoy it. I had to take myself not too seriously by doing my TikToks, at first I was like 'I can’t do this' and then I just got cheesy and got with it and it’s fun."

While at Hits Live Manchester, we also got to see incredible performances from Tom Grennan, Craig David, Mimi Webb, KSI, Tate McRae, Sigala, and Olly Murs.
