Niall Horan admits the timing of his album 'Heartbreak Weather' is 'probably the worst ever'
The Coronavirus has prevented him from travelling to promote his album
This week Wes has been filling in for Hits Radio Breakfast with Fleur East, Greg and James and today (19th March) he welcomed Niall Horan on the show via FaceTime. Niall, who like many of us is in self-isolation, joined us from his living room, admitting it couldn't be a worse time to launch a new album.
Niall released his album 'Heartbreak Weather' just last week and was due to travel around the US and Canada to promote it, however after Coronavirus caused many travel restrictions, he was forced to stay put in London.
"The timing of the release of an album I've spent a year and a half working on, is probably the worst ever. In terms of releases and timings, it’s been very frustrating with everything being cancelled," the singer explained.
Niall continued, "I’d have much preferred being in the radio stations and on the televisions in the homes of the masses when it comes to releasing the album. My alternative is this, which is not the end of the world but it has been very frustrating. I feel like I would have done more numbers, album sales wise if I’d been out and about."
However, Niall has been taking self-isolation in his stride saying, "I’m happy to be back in the living room, I’ve been writing tunes, I’ve been watching TV, I’ve been doing stuff like this (interviews), I’ve been having a great time."
Wes also asked if there was a chance Niall and Lewis Capaldi might team up for a virtual concert like Chris Martin's Coldplay and John Legend, to which he replied, "Maybe we should do that!"
The former One Direction singer released his song 'No Judgement' in February 2020 and followed it up with his 'Nice To Meet Ya' tour announcement and his 'Heartbreak Weather' album - released on 13th March.
