Within his huge wins he’s also been bestowed an MBE, receiving his award from Prince Charles in December 2017. Upon collecting his award, the singer said: "My grandfather died on this day four years ago, so it's actually quite a nice full circle thing, I guess he'd be pretty proud."

In 2019, Spotify also confirmed that he’d set a new record for the highest number of global monthly listeners on the streaming platform.

In 2022, his single 'Bad Habits' was presented with the European Song of the Year Award at the 2022 BMI London Awards. Accepting the gong with co-writer Johnny McDaid of Snow Patrol, Ed said: "We had so much fun making the song and it has been so much fun playing the song out on the road and seeing the reactions of people all around Europe and I can’t wait to go out and do some more."

Johnny added: "Ed, I’m so grateful man for the fact that you still trust me to make music with you after over a decade of us writing songs together and I hope we have many more to come."
