Craig David confirms a new album is 'on the horizon'

Craig David is joining us every Friday until Christmas for Craig David presents TS5, so Hits Radio's Evening Show presenter Jordan Lee thought he'd catch up with the 'Fill Me In' singer over Skype.

Craig joined Jordan from a rather tropical-looking apartment, which actually turned out to be in 'sunny' London, with the heating cranked up! Craig's show is called TS5, getting its name from his apartment in Miami where he hosted a house party. TS5 became such a big hit and has continued to prove popular with his recent set of shows in Ibiza, so he's bringing the vibe to Hits Radio's listeners.

The singer and DJ, who spent the summer in Ibiza, explained where he got some ideas for his TS5 show, revealing that sometimes he'd hear tunes being played in the clubs which would give him inspiration for his set.

"On the island Ibiza there's a lot of really good parties going on there," he said, "Huge DJs, and I was like, I just need to find something that's slightly more unique. I can perform and sing tunes as well as DJ, so why not use the space and make it feel like everyone's part of this."

Craig also confirmed he would be releasing an album! Telling Jordan that 2020 will be a big year he explained, "I've got the arena tour, like I said, starting off with New Year's Eve like that, new album on the horizon..."

The '7 Days' singer went on to explain that a lot of people choose not to create, "bodies of work because the climate has changed." However, he feels his fans expect an album, despite him releasing singles, going on to cheekily say, "I've got a little album ready to put out there."

Despite teasing us with this fantastic news, Craig has yet to reveal dates or a name for his new music.

It certainly is an exciting year for Craig next year who will be performing across the country.

During the interview on Hits Radio, Craig also reminisced about the two decades he's been in the music business, explaining that he was looking back an an old performance on Top of The Pops, from when he was just 17-years-old.

Last month (November), Craig joined us at Hits Live where he wowed the audience with his amazing set which included him performing some of his best hits including 'Rewind'.
