Last week, Sam, who is also touring the UK and Ireland in the run-up to Christmas this year, announced that he will be returning to the home of his beloved Newcastle United on Thursday 12th and Saturday 14th June 2025. After seeing phenomenal demand in the pre-sale, the Geordie lad has now added an extra date on Sunday 15th June.

One day before the news dropped, Sam teased a huge announcement was incoming, sharing a video of Johnny 'Bluehat' playing the saxophone whilst wearing a Toon top inside the press room at St James' Park.

The video was captioned with: 'BIG ANNOUNCEMENT TOMORROW!!'.

Fans of the Geordie lad were quick to comment, with many hoping the news would be shows at St James' Park.

What is Sam's new song?

The exciting news of Sam's 2025 Newcastle shows comes after the 30-year-old released his latest single 'People Watching' earlier in November.

‘People Watching’ was written for his late friend and mentor, Annie Orwin, and is based on Sam’s thoughts as he travelled to and from her palliative care home. The track gives fans a taster of the singer's upcoming third album, which is due for release in February 2025.

As fans will know, earlier this year Sam also announced a 10-date tour of the UK and Ireland in the run-up to Christmas this year.

Sam will play shows in Dublin, Leeds, Manchester, London, Birmingham and Glasgow, before a homecoming show at Newcastle's Utilita Arena on 20th December.
