Louis Walsh confirms line-up for Westlife but there’s one member missing

This is the news that Westlife fans have been waiting for! Louis Walsh has hinted that the Irish boyband WILL be reuniting as a 'fab four', Shane Filan, Mark Feehily, Nicky Byrne and Kian Egan.

Last month Louis appeared on This Morning when he mentioned the idea of a reunion with a "few tours and a new album", despite admitting he hadn't spoken to the band about it. Since then he has been speaking to a national newspaper to reveal more details of the exciting reunion.

The X Factor judge, who managed the band for many years, revealed that he wants a line-up of just four of the original members, Shane, Mark, Nicky and Kian.

He told the newspaper, "Brian won't be involved, it will be the Fab Four. Totally."

He went on to say, "The four of them just see themselves as Westlife," admitting that even if Brian McFadden called up himself he would, "prefer a happy band and four happy people."

Brian originally left the boyband in 2004, six years before the group went their separate ways in 2012 and he is currently touring with Boyzlife - him and Keith Duffy from Boyzone.

But is seems that Brian is happy with his other work at the moment. According to Digital Spy Brian's rep told them, "Brian left the band quite a long time before they broke up to pursue a solo career.

"He is very happy and busy at the moment with Boyzlife."

Following Brian's departure in 2004 the group went on to release six more albums adding to the massive success they had as a five-piece.

Between 1998 and 2012 Westlife dominated the charts selling over 50 million records worldwide and having 26 UK top ten singles. In 2012 the Official Charts Company also listed Westlife as the 34th biggest-selling singles artists in British music history.

Although Brian did leave Westlife before they split, with the recent reunion tours we’ve seen a whole host of ex members return. When Five reformed as a four piece back in 2013, Sean Conlon returned despite previously leaving the band and it was J Brown who didn’t. Kerry Katona also rejoined the Atomic Kittens despite leaving the band three years before they split.
