Sarah Harding and Cheryl break their long running silence with Twitter messages

Fans of Girls Aloud have been disheartened that there is a divide between former members, with Sarah Harding and Nadine Coyle on one side and Cheryl, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh on the others. However Sarah has finally broken the silence and reached out to new mum Cheryl on social media.

After her first TV interview since giving birth to baby Bear aired, Cheryl took to Twitter to ask her army of fans which album tracks they wished she'd released as singles.

Although she didn't really pay attention to Cheryl's question, current Celebrity Big Brother winner Sarah reached out to her old friend and wrote, 'Hey stranger!... U know FFTL Fight For This Love will always be the one 👍🏼💥#TrueToTheGame 😘' sic

With Cheryl reportedly unhappy with Sarah talking about her during her time in the Celebrity Big Brother house, fans were surprised to see the former X Factor judge reply. Sending a short message back, Cheryl wrote, '😘💃🏻💂🏼#alwaystrue 😉'

Although that was the end of the public messaging between the pair, it's unclear if they are back in contact.

Sarah recently appeared on Loose Women and revealed she doesn't get to see many of her Girls Aloud band mates as they are all busy with their own lives. She said, "A lot of them are all busy with their families and they've been getting married, so it's quite hard, especially when we are all busy."

Tensions between the pair have been frosty since Girls Aloud announced their split back in March 2013.

Just before Sarah entered the Celebrity Big Brother house, it was being reported that Cheryl had unfollowed Sarah on social media.

To add to all of the drama, Sarah then seemed to have a dig at Cheryl when she spoke about her pregnancy to her fellow housemates. Sarah said, "She just knows how to work it when she wants to, when she wants to be seen she is, and when she doesn’t, she makes sure she isn’t. Like with the whole baby thing. She just plans things meticulously."

Whilst Cheryl has just returned to work following her maternity leave, Sarah revealed she had a few bits of work lined up in Los Angeles.

Now the girls seem more civil, could a Girls Aloud reunion be on the cards?!
