MNEK joined Jordan Lee to talk about what he's been up to in 2020, working with Joel Corry on their Number 1 single, 'Head & Heart' and he also admitted that it's him that you can hear at the beginning of Jax Jones' songs saying, "Whatcha whatcha gonna do".
Despite many people thinking that it's new dad Jax saying those iconic words, MNEK told Jordan it was actually him! "I get around, I definitely get around some type of way, whether I'm like singing or a little 'Whatcha whatcha gonna do'..." he joked.
MNEK went on to confirm it IS him on Jax's songs, however it is, "His (Jax) thing, he has it, but it's me!"
Whether you know it or not, you'll definitely recognise a song or two that MNEK has written, produced or sung! Over the years he has written for the likes of Jax Jones ('Breathe'), Zara Larsson ('Ain't My Fault'), Little Mix ('Touch'), he's also written for Kylie Minogue, Beyoncé, and Madonna. Pretty impressive for someone who is only 25-years-old and started out by putting some of his early music on MySpace.
Speaking about his Platinum-selling Number 1 single, 'Head & Heart', MNEK said, "It's been great to create and write and record songs (during lockdown), this Joel Corry record, 'Head & Heart' has been doing its thing. I really didn't expect that to be something that came out of this period in time, but it's been amazing, it's been so dope."
MNEK also touched on how his journey with his sexuality has enabled him to be more creative with his songwriting. "I think so," the singer agreed with Jordan, going to explain that a lot of the songs he's written are for women.
"I think that comfortability and trust from a woman in that sense has definitely come from the fact that I'm not just any straight man," he explained.

'Tequila' came from Jax Jones teaming up with Martin Solveig and RAYE in February 2020. They even recorded an uncut version of the music video which included a whole section in Spanish.

RAYE and Regard teamed up for 'Secrets' in April 2020. The song is now a chilled pop banger, but RAYE told us how it was originally a slow R&B song and Regard transformed it.

Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber released their charity song 'Stuck With U' in May 2020. The pair encouraged their fans to upload videos of themselves dancing to the song while they were in lockdown.

For the ultimate summer vibes, Lennon Stella and Charlie Puth released their hit 'Summer Feeling' in May 2020, from Scoob! The Album.
SZA and Justin Timberlake 'The Other Side'
SZA and Justin Timberlake released 'The Other Side' which was featured on the soundtrack for Trolls World Tour. The film had limited release due to the Coronavirus outbreak and instead was released on Blu-ray and DVD in June 2020.
Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande - 'Rain On Me'
Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande teamed up for the super successful 'Rain On Me' in June 2020. The song features on Lady Gaga's latest album 'Chromatica' which has become the fastest selling album of the year so far.
Becky Hill and Sigala - 'Heaven On My Mind'
Becky Hill and Sigala dropped 'Heaven On My Mind' in June. The song was a surprise and fans love it. Becky also dropped a music video on the same day the song was released.

Calvin Harris and The Weeknd 'Over Now'
Calvin Harris and The Weeknd released their collab 'Over Now' on 28th August. The music video is a CGI animated video featuring a disco ball-style recreation of The Weeknd in various futuristic locations.
Dua Lipa - 'Club Future Nostalgia'
