I'm A Celeb's Maura Higgins discusses Pete Wicks romance
Rumours have been rife for months
Before entering the I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! jungle as a late arrival, rumours were rife that Love Island star Maura Higgins was dating current Strictly Come Dancing contestant Pete Wicks, with the pair being spotted kissing.
However, despite Pete showing his support for Maura on social media since she's been in the jungle, the pair are yet to publicly speak of their apparent romance, until Maura was quizzed by her camp mates during Sunday night's (1st December) episode.
When asked if she is single by Oti Mabuse, Maura said: "I am but I was seeing someone before I came in but I'm not in a relationship."
Reverend Richard Coles expanded further on the question, adding: "Was it exclusive? Or if I've put you on the spot, sorry!"
Following a long pause, Maura quipped: "I dunno", before admitting she has missed him during her time in Australia.
Although Maura didn't mention Pete by name, she did admit the person in question is known, with Dean later mentioning TOWIE in the Bush Telegraph.
After admitting she's never been in love before, Dean asked the Love Island star if it feels different this time, to which she gushed: "It does, but then is it because we've known each other for a long time?"
When Richard said: "You'd know if he was an a---hole or not, by now", Maura added: "Yeah, he's not an a---hole."
After seeing Maura's comments, fans of the show were quick to comment, with many thinking the pair make a great match.
One said: 'I’m all for Maura & Pete. I can see how their energy works with each other ❤️', with another writing: 'Her & Pete suit. I’d like it to work for both of them ❤️'.
Somebody else commented: 'Pete is the missing piece to Maura's heart ♥ The One'. (sic)
It seems like the feeling is mutual from Pete, who despite being busy on Strictly Come Dancing, has found the time to show his support for Maura on social media. Taking to his Instagram Story, Pete shared a number of photos of Maura from the show, writing: 'I've been George of the Jungle but now it's time to vote for Maura of the Jungle!' (sic)
With just one week to go until the final of I'm A Celeb, we will have to wait and see how this one plays out when Maura arrives back in the UK.
