Little Mix's Jesy Nelson has announced plans to release a documentary to raise awareness for mental health issues. The 27-year-old Little Mix star, who recently confirmed she's dating Love Island's Chris Hughes, has taken to Instagram to reveal that she's working with the BBC for the film, which will cover topics such as social media, body shaming and trolling.

Sharing a video to her Instagram profile, Jesy wrote, 'Mental health awareness is something we should all be talking about more. Having suffered myself I decided I want to do something about it.

'So I’m pleased to announce I'm making a film with the BBC, telling my own personal story and exploring how social media, body shaming and trolling is effecting the mental health of young people.'

In the video, Jesy could be heard explaining that the subject was "really close" to her heart, adding that one in four men and women will suffer with their mental health and adding that it's a subject she thinks isn't discussed enough.

She added, "I'm making this film because I really, really want to make a change and make a difference to people's lives."
