Samantha Markle, the Duchess of Sussex's half-sister, has addressed rumours that she will be appearing in the upcoming summer series of Celebrity Big Brother. Samantha appeared on Good Morning Britain today (23rd July), to talk about her father's health and the rumours that she will be appearing in the popular reality TV series.
Replying to a question about the Celebrity Big Brother rumours, Samantha said, “I’ve worked in media most of my life, why would I not? Why would I stop living because I have a family issue going on? I don’t think she’s in intelligent enough to be able to separate the two, whether you’re a celebrity or a Royal, you have a high public profile and that’s subject to discussion within the media. Samantha went on to explain, "Back to the issue of cashing in, the media make billions of dollars off social issues and talking about the Royals. I don’t see how we’re any different. No one has a copyright on our life experiences."
Then, when she was asked again if she was going to star in the new series, Samantha replied, “Urm… well, I would tell you, but then I would have to kill you, so…. I don’t want to find myself in locks and stocks quite frankly. It wouldn’t be becoming.”

Although the line-up has yet to be officially confirmed by Celebrity Big Brother bosses, last week they revealed details of this year's theme, saying it would be ‘Eye of the Storm'. In a statement they explained 'All of the celebrity names entering the house will have been caught up in their own media storm. And now, the celebrities are once again putting themselves in the public eye and this time they have a lot to prove.'
Channel 5 then went on to say the new series will include 'fireworks, fun and definitely a few storms', unveiling the logo and a teaser trailer, which you can see below.
Returning to present the new series will be Emma Willis, with Rylan Clark-Neal returning to present Celebrity Big Brother’s Bit On the Side joined by a number of celebrity panellists.
Last week, it was also reported that the summer series of the popular TV show will be returning on the 17th August, however this has yet to be confirmed by Channel 5.
Celebrity Big Brother first hit our TV screens way back in 2001, with winners including the likes of Mark Owen, Alex Reid, Rylan Clark-Neal, Katie Price, Charlotte Crosby and former Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding.
The winter edition of the show, which aired in January 2018, saw Shane Jenek (AKA Courtney Act) be crowned the winner.
Celebrity Big Brother returns to TV screens in August 2018.
