Despite many people thinking that This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby would end Ant and Dec's Best Presenter reign at the National Television Awards last night, the Geordie boys were crowned the winners for the 18th year in a row.

Although they weren't in attendance at London's 02 Arena, due to filming this year's Britain's Got Talent auditions, Ant and Dec were presented with the award via a video link, where they looked visibly shocked!

As they both teared up as they accepted the award, Ant said, "I really don't think I can accept this award this year. The one reason we won this year is this guy Dec - his hard work, dedication, funniness and being the best mate that is out there."

A gobsmacked Dec then added, "This year, probably more than ever, thank you to everyone who picked up the phone and voted for us."

The popular hosts later took to Instagram to thank their fans again, sharing a selfie looking very happy. The message read, 'Thank you doesn’t seem to cover it this year. We are humbled and honoured that you have chosen us at the #NTAs. We are so appreciative of your support and good wishes. Thank you again. Now back to work at BGT auditions! xx'. sic

Although some viewers of last night's awards felt that Ant and Dec didn't 'deserve' the award this year, many of their fans were quick to congratulate the boys.

One user wrote, 'Well deserved - both are great đź‘Źđź‘Ź', with another adding, 'Well done guys love u both just glad your back together new fresh start for u both inore the ones that give u negative comments xx'. sic

A third then wrote, 'A picture that paints a million and one words đź’™@antanddec'. sic
