The brand new BRIT Award design has been unveiled

Next year's BRIT Award design has been revealed and it's very unusual.
The BRIT Awards 2018 with Mastercard has been designed by Sir Anish Kapoor, a highly acclaimed British/Indian artist who has won countless awards himself.
The new award was unveiled across social media earlier today with a tweet saying, 'Here it is! The #BRITs 2018 award, designed by the incredible Sir Anish Kapoor'.
Sir Anish is the first sculptor to be chosen as an award designer for the BRITs, following on from this year's designer, the renowned architect Dame Zaha Hadid, who designed the award before she sadly passed away in March last year.
Speaking about the new design Sir Anish said, “I am pleased to have designed the BRIT award for 2018. Sculpture is often a process of positive and negative form. I have made the award using both."
According to The BRITs the 2018 award design will represent a triumph for British creativity and innovation, and embodies the sculptor's unique artistic vision.
BRITs Chairman, Jason Iley, who was involved with the appointment of the sculptor said,
“Sir Anish has created some of the most adventurous and memorable works of our life time which is reflected in the new BRIT award. He constantly pushes boundaries and challenges the norm and I love the way he has reimagined this year’s award."
Sir Anish has previously designed the iconic ArcelorMittal Orbit sculpture for the London 2012 Olympic Games, which is still located in Olympic Park and is Britain’s largest piece of public art.
The response to the new design from the public has been very positive with comments such as, 'wow it looks amazing 😍' from one fan.
Hundreds of Little Mix fans have also taken the opportunity to suggest that the girl group should win Best Group next year, after The 1975 took home the highly coveted award this year, much to many fans' disappointment.
Next year's BRITs will take place on Wednesday 21st February from London’s O2 Arena.
