In celebration of the show's 20th anniversary

In celebration of Strictly Come Dancing's 20th anniversary this year, BBC bosses have unveiled a brand new themed week for the current series, which will take place at the start of November.

What is the new theme?

Icons Week is the brand new theme, which will see this year's pairings pay tribute to some of the most recognisable and influential people in the music industry. This new week will be dedicated to music legends from across the decades.

Each celebrity will perform a dance to a song from their favourite music heroes, with bosses also teasing viewers might catch some of them emulating an icon.

During the results show, the Strictly professional dancers will perform a dazzling Beyoncé medley, with Johannes Radebe channelling his inner Sasha Fierce as the protagonist in the routine.

The BBC say: 'Expect bejewelled cowboy hats, power ballad moves and sparkling sass'.

When is it?

Icons Week will take place on Saturday 2nd November, so we don't have long to wait!

Bosses wrote on social media: 'To celebrate twenty iconic years of the show, we’re announcing a new Strictly special… ICONS WEEK! 🤩

'Shimmying onto screens on Saturday 2nd November, our couples will take to the dance floor to honour music’s most recognisable and influential icons from across the decades.

'During the results show on Sunday 3rd November, our Pro dancers will perform a Beyoncé medley, with Johannes Radebe channelling his inner Sasha Fierce.

'It’s going to be sassy, sparkling and FAB-U-LOUS! ✨'. (sic)
