The trailer for Harlan Coben’s I Will Find You has landed, and it’s bringing all the usual Coben chaos. Within seconds, we’re thrown into a story about a father behind bars, a son who may not be as gone as everyone thought, and a search for the truth that looks set to get very messy.

It’s got the kind of high-stakes tension Harlan fans know and love, only this time the emotional angle feels even sharper. Netflix clearly has another binge-ready thriller on its hands.

What is I Will Find You about?

I Will Find You follows David Burroughs, a man serving a life sentence for killing his young son Matthew, a crime he insists he did not commit. Everything changes when he gets fresh hope that Matthew might still be alive, which sends him spiralling into a prison break and a desperate race to uncover what really happened.

He is not doing it alone, either. Rachel, his sister-in-law and an investigative journalist, is convinced he was never guilty in the first place, and her curiosity pushes her into the heart of the mystery. Harlan Coben has said the series was developed for television while he was still writing the novel, something he says he has never done before.

Teasing the series, Britt Lower explained (via Tudum): "Rachel has never (thought) that David was guilty of the crime that he’s imprisoned for... Her curiosity about what actually happened is what sends her on that path."

Harlan Coben added: "I came to (showrunner) Robby Hull with this idea, and we brought it to Netflix as a possible TV show while I was writing the novel, which I've never done before.

"We shared a vision in how we wanted to tell I Will Find You so it will grip you, and not just grip you and move you, but really get emotional at the end."
