Hundreds gather for Ava White vigil
Crowds gathered on Church Street to remember the 12-year-old
Hundreds gathered outside Primark on Church Street to pay tribute to 12-year-old Ava White who was killed in Liverpool City Centre last week.
The vigil was organised with the blessing of her family, and her favourite songs were played during the service. Glow sticks were also handed out to those who attended so they could "light up" the night for Ava.
The Radio City tower was lit up dark blue at 6:12pm as an acknowledgement of the city's heartbreak.
Anthony Goudi organised the event and he believes that it will bring the city together.
Speaking to heat radio before the vigil, Anthony said: "I want to do something to help this family."
"Whether that's financially with donations, or whether that's bringing the whole city together. We're doing both. By bringing the whole city together the family can find strength in strength.
"We can't bring Ava back, but what we can do is show that family the whole city is behind them and we are here for them, and we feel her, not the way they feel her, but we feel it too.
"It'll be overwhelming because they're going to know everyone is there for their baby girl. Everyone is there for Ava, and that's going to be an emotional rollercoaster for them. Look at all those people that are there for our Ava, and they didn't even know most of them, but they're still here. They still turned up and want to show respects for her."
