Start date confirmed for Trigger Point series 2
Vicky McClure is back as Lana Washington!
It's been two years since ITV/STV drama Trigger Point hit our screens, with the high-octane drama featuring Vicky McClure leaving fans on the edge of their seats! After creator Jed Mercurio confirmed a second series had been commissioned, further details were released, and now we eventually have a start date!
When does Trigger Point start?
After previously teasing the drama would begin in January, bosses have now confirmed series two of Trigger Point will begin at 9pm on Sunday 28th January.
ITV/STV shared the news online, writing: 'The countdown is almost over… 💣Brand-new #TriggerPoint returns Sunday 28th January at 9pm on ITV1 and @itvxofficial'. (sic)
Bosses previously teased the show's return in December, sharing a dramatic trailer featuring character such as Lana Washington, Hass, Danny, DI Thom Youngblood, Sonya Reeves, John and Jeff.

Although there's not many details about the plot of series two, Producer Jed Mercurio said: "Everyone at HTM Television is thrilled by the success of Trigger Point. Thanks to all our brilliant cast and crew and especially to the viewers who watched in such large numbers. We've received unswerving support from ITV throughout the production and we are delighted to have been commissioned for a second series."
Screenwriter Daniel Brierley also added: “I’m honoured and excited to be given the chance to continue Lana’s story. I feel there’s many more twists and turns in her future. It’s been thrilling to see how the public have responded to our show and I can’t wait to see what they will make of the next instalment!”
