The UK's oldest identical twins, 95-year-old Lil and Doris from Tipton in the West Midlands, appeared on Good Morning Britain this morning (Tuesday 19th May), to speak to hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid via a video chat.

The pair, who moved in with Lil's daughter at the beginning of lockdown, left the hosts and viewers at home in fits of laughter at their response to a question about life.

Piers asked the twins, "What is the secret of living so long and so well?" with Lil pointing to her sister and saying, "Her secret... plenty of sex."

Although a shocked Doris tried to interrupt to tell her sister to be quiet, Piers and Susanna burst into laughter, with Piers going on to call it his favourite moment on TV.

Viewers of the show were quick to take to social media to express their humour at the moment. One viewer wrote, 'Love love loved them great interview and thank god the daughter had the sense to take them out of the care home , bless them both what a joy to see them this morning'. (sic)

Another wrote, 'Black Country humour at its best', with a third adding, 'Never laughed so much these lady’s are so witty and funny a joy to watch love to them both'. (sic)

And it turns out the lovely ladies are very up to date with their tech! Not only are they giving interviews via video calls, they also have a shared Instagram account, where they often post photos.

To celebrate VE Day on Friday 8th May, Lil and Doris were sent decorations, telling their followers, 'We have received some lovely deliveries today and are both looking forward to celebrating VE Day tomorrow. We remember the day like it was yesterday and can’t believe it’s been 75yrs! We are truly grateful for all the sacrifices made by so many people to give us our freedom. 🇬🇧 👵🏻💙👵🏻 🇬🇧 #veday #75 #celebration #grateful #dorisandlil'. (sic)

How lovely! ❤️

Have a virtual slumber party

'Sit down' with your mates and watch a film together. There are plenty of websites you can use to watch the same programme or film with your friends. Services with Netflix Party and Kast will enable you to chat to your friends while you're watching something.

Stream your favourite festival on your TV

We've all seen the Australian couple who have missed out on their cruise, replacing it with their TV, so why not do the same with your favourite music festival?

Turn up the tunes (being considerate for your neighbours of course), and enjoy a party in your living room.

Pamper yourself

Just because you're by yourself doesn't mean you can't treat yourself to a hot bath, or even a massage if you have a machine!

Celebrate with your pet

If you've got a pet, whether it's a dog, cat, or hamster, why not celebrate with them?! Granted they might not understand the reason for your celebration, but they'll probably join in by playing with some wrapping paper.

Get loads of birthday freebies

You might not be able to go out, so why not request loads of freebies or discounts for your birthday. All sorts of places will provide a discount if it's your special day, from The Body Shop to TopShop.
