MAFS Aus viewers in SHOCK at most dramatic episode in show's history

Involving Carolina and Dan's affair!

It's fair to say Married At First Sight Australia has served up some series drama over the years, with UK viewers left hooked on the popular show. But the current ninth series may have just surpassed all expectations!

As well as the drama surrounding girls Domenica Calarco and Olivia Frazer, and the usual tension at the commitment ceremonies, Monday night's episode on E4, which was split into two parts, left viewers with their mouths wide open.

Let's start from the top....

Following a week of arguments, Dion Giannarelli showed up alone to the fifth commitment ceremony, with viewers thinking his wife Carolina was going to be a no-show.

Little did Dion and the rest of the cast know, Carolina had been spending time with former contestant Daniel Holmes, with the pair enjoying secret dates and kisses behind Dion's back.

As Olivia and her husband Jackson were sat on the sofa with experts John Aiken, Mel Schilling and Alessandra Rampolla, the cast and crew were left STUNNED as Carolina and Dan burst through the doors hand-in-hand.

After producers put mics on the pair and expert John tried his best to calm down the rest of the cast, Caroline and Dan went one step further with their shock admissions, asking to re-enter the experiment as a new couple.

Of course, this didn't go down well with their cast mates, resulting in a mass walk-out from the likes of Domenica, Selena, Tamara, Brent, Mitchell and Jackson.

Once emotions had calmed down a little, the show continued, with expert John revealing to Carolina and Dan that they would not be allowed to re-enter the experiment, a decision which was met by a standing ovation from the rest of the cast.

He said: "There's absolutely no way that we can allow you to re-enter the experiment as a new couple. It's not going to happen now and it's not going to happen in the future.

"This betreayal is incredibly unsettling and difficult for all of all to witness, and we don't see any merit for this relationship that you have to continue on this experiment.

"Firstly, Daniel you've been out of it for weeks, you're no longer part of what's going on in this experiment. And as for you Carolina, the way in which you've conducted yourself in this experiment, the way you've spoken to people, the way you've dealt with your partner who we matched you with, all along carrying on this betrayal behind our backs, is unlike anything we've ever seen.

"We could not live with ourselves to put such an unhealthy dynamic back into this experiment. And fundamentally the deal breaker in all of this is the way you Carolina, decided to treat Dion, there is no going back from that, and there is certainly no rewarding it."

And just as viewers got their breath back from the bumper episode, the teaser clip for Tuesday night (5th April) showed there's even more drama to come, as the home stay weeks commence.

Check out which Married At First Sight UK couples are still together:

Adam and Tayah - ENGAGED

Adam and Tayah proved love at first sight most definitely IS a thing! These two immediately hit it off on their wedding day, with the pair even saying the L word on their honeymoon.

After zero issues throughout the process, viewers were over the moon when Adam proposed to Tayah for real during their final vow renewal.

Since the final episode, Adam and Tayah have been very loved-up on socials, and the couple welcomed their first child together in October 2022, a baby girl called Beau Emily Aveling.

Daniel and Matt - SPLIT

Despite seemingly falling for each other very quickly, Daniel and Matt had their struggles due to Matt living in Leeds and Daniel being from Northern Ireland. The pair remained together during the final vow renewal, and appeared seriously loved-up on social media, even looking to move in together in 2022.

Sadly, Matt and Dan took to their socials in December 2022 to reveal that they had split, admitting that they were better as friends, and that the split was amicable.

Luke and Morag - SPLIT

It's safe to say Luke and Morag didn't get off to the best start during the MAFS process. After Morag confessed she didn't find her husband attractive, the couple struggled with intimacy.

However, by the end of the process, Luke and Morag had seemingly found a spark, with the pair choosing to stay together during the final vow renewal.

Despite this, the pair confirmed during the reunion show they'd split up, with Morag admitting Luke hadn't phoned her since the process ended. However, Luke later said it was because Morag still didn't care for him.

Marilyse and Franky - SPLIT

These two shocked viewers during the final vow renewal when they revealed their true feelings for each other, with Franky even admitting he was ready to move back to the UK from Dubai.

Franky later gushed about his girl on social media, admitting he'd moved to the same town as Marilyse and met her children.

However, on Friday 8th October, the pair both released statements confirmed they'd split. They remain good friends.

Josh and Amy - SPLIT

There's no denying the fact that Josh and Amy had a whirlwind experience during the MAFS experiment. After the pair had initial doubts over their age-gap, the couple experienced a number of fiery arguments and disagreements.

However, by the end of the process the pair seemed closer than ever, with Josh opening up about his feelings towards Amy during the final vow renewal.

The pair have been pretty quiet on social media since the final and during the reunion show they confirmed they are no longer together.

Married At First Sight Australia continues Monday-Thursday on E4.
