Love Island: Faye Winter's family break silence following explosive Teddy scenes

It was a difficult watch!

If like us you've been glued to your TV screens over the weekend taking in all of the drama in the Love Island villa, you were probably cringing into your cuppas during both Friday and Sunday night's shows as Teddy Soares and Faye Winter's romance came to an explosive end.

Despite the pair patching up their romance following Teddy's return from Casa Amor, things took a serious U-turn on Friday night, as the Islanders were shown previously unseen footage of their time on the show.

In one clip, Teddy was shown telling Casa Amor girl Clarisse Juliette that he found her 'sexually attractive', something Faye did NOT take kindly to.

In a scene which was a hard-watch for viewers, the 26-year-old from Devon blew up at Teddy, with the pair getting into an explosive argument in front of their fellow Islanders, resulting in Faye ending things completely with Teddy during Sunday night's episode.

Following complaints by viewers, Faye's family have now broken their silence, reminding people to be kind.

The message read: 'We understand that fans of Love Island have opinion on Friday night's episode.

'While we don't want to comment on the events of the show, we ask everyone to remember: You are watching a highly edited TV show which is created for entertainment - you can never see the full picture.

'Faye is human. She may not always get things right. There are human beings managing the Islander's social media pages who will be seriously effected by your comments. We make no apology for turning off comments, blocking and deleting to protect the mental well-being of ourselves and Faye when she comes out.'

It continued: 'We ask that everyone please remembers this before commenting or messaging.

'We would encourage anyone struggling to do the same thing.

'We hope that we can all get back enjoying the show together from now on. Love Team Faye x.' (sic)

After admitting she feels she can no longer trust Teddy after seeing the footage of him at Casa Amor, despite Teddy's best efforts to talk her round, Faye put an end to the romance during Sunday night's show, leaving viewers gutted for Teddy.

Check out all of the rules the Islanders must follow in the villa:

No getting drunk

According to 2017 contestant Kem Cetinay, contestants are allowed one small glass of wine or beer a night with dinner.
Being drunk's an absolute no-no, so sex while intoxicated is obviously against the rules too.

No masturbating

No solo sex acts are allowed in the villa, though obviously allowed to get jiggy with their partner.

No nudity

Contestants cannot be naked in front of other islanders, since the villa is technically a public space.

No books, phones or magazines

The islanders are given snazzy phones from their sponsor, Samsung (what else would they get their texts on?); but anyone sneaking their own mobile phone into the villa would risk being removed.
Same goes for books and magazines, too.

No inappropriate language or behaviour

This could cover homophobic, racist or aggressive language and is quite the broad rule. Inappropriate behaviour is again at producers' discretion, and would include violence and sexual harassment.

No discriminating against staff

Any Islanders who are rude to crew could run the risk of being booted off the show, and contestants must NOT take their mic packs off unless instructed to.

Follow the rule book

Simple. Contestants must obey the rule book they're provided with; which includes information on safe sex, consent and how to know if you're following the guidelines.

In other Love Island news, the Islanders have some major decisions to make during tonight's show (Monday 9th August), with Abi Rawlings, Mary Beford and Kaz Kamwi at risk for the girls, and Tyler Cruickshank, Dale Mehmet and Jake Cornish for the boys.

The safe Islanders will decide which of their co-stars to save, whilst brand new bombshells Priya and Aaron make their way into the villa.

Love Island continues every night at 9pm on ITV2.
