Love Is Blind stars announce shock split with joint statement
They met on season two of the show
Love Is Blind series one was such a hit that the Netflix show returned for another drama-packed season in February. The show sees singletons get to know each other on literal blind dates, as they rely solely on the conversations they have and the connection they make during the experiment. This worked well for Iyanna McNeely and Jarrette Jones who found love on the show, getting engaged in the pods and going on to get married.
The reunion episode showed that the couple had been enjoying married life since filming ended, and they recently celebrated their one-year anniversary. However, they have now given a disappointing update on their relationship as Iyanna and Jarette revealed they have split up and are planning on getting divorced.
In a joint Instagram post, the pair said: 'After much thought, we're saddened to share that we have separated and will begin the process of divorcing. While we have love for each other, our lives are going in different directions, and that's okay. Coming to this decision was far from easy and we will always wish each other the absolute best.
'We hope you all will give us some space as we close this chapter of our lives. Thank you to our close friends and family for loving us both through our experience.
'To the Love Is Blind family and Netflix, thank you for this unforgettable opportunity and support. Each of you have brought overwhelming love and joy into our lives. This experience has taught us so much about ourselves, vulnerability and love. We don't regret a single thing!' (sic)
The pair have currently disabled comments on the Instagram post, but the official Love Is Blind Twitter account commented on the split writing: 'Jarrette and Iyanna - As you start the next chapters of your lives, thank you for opening your hearts to the Love is Blind experience and sharing your journey with all of us. ❤️'
Iyanna and Jarette weren't the only couple to get married in season two, as Danielle Ruhl and Nick Thompson also tied the knot. The pair also celebrated one year of marriage together in June and appear to still be happily married.
How can I watch Love Is Blind?
After all the drama of the first two seasons, the show has been confirmed for third, fourth and fifth seasons, although release dates have yet to be confirmed.
