I'm A Celeb's Nella Rose divides opinion after huge clash with Fred Sirieix
There's tension in the camp
We may only be a few days in to the brand new series of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!, but tensions between certain celebs are rising already! As well as Jamie Lynn Spears so far finding jungle life very difficult, on Tuesday night's show (21st November), an awkward argument broke out between Nella Rose and Fred Sirieix...
Despite Nella quickly becoming a fan favourite in the first two episodes, some viewers were quick to change their opinions on her last night, after she told 51-year-old Fred that he wasn't the type of person she wanted to be around.
In scenes which aired at the beginning on the episode, Fred offered Nella some rice, to which she ignored him.
Speaking in the Bush Telegraph, 26-year-old Nella admitted: āLast night after dinner Fred made a comment about him basically how he could be my dad. I took offence to that because one of the first conversations we had together was me opening up about the fact that my dadās passed away.
āI didnāt say anything about it last night because I was kind of just annoyed about it. So I slept on it and I kind of thought about it and I was just like, this is not the kind of person I want to be around.ā
After initially being ignored, Fred approached Nella and said: āNella? Darling? You donāt want to eat?ā
Nella replied: āCan you leave me alone?ā
Fred answered: āOKā, before asking: āWhat have I done to you?ā
Explaining the comment he made the day before, Nella said: āYou know that my mumās dead, and you know that my dadās dead. You know that, right? Iāve come to find out that every time I wanna get creative around the fire, or I want to have something my way, my own food that I am entitled to, my way, you tend to get an attitude, right?
āSo yesterday, when I wanted to burn fat that you were going to throw away anyways, itās not even something that we needed to survive in camp, you turned around to me, with an attitude and said, āYou know I could be your dad, right?ā To me, I donāt care how you said it to me, itās disrespectful and I donāt want to talk to you. I donāt want to be around you. I only allow people to disrespect me once. You hurt my feelings. I was very upset⦠you keep trying to speak to me when I donāt want to speak to you. I would rather stay away from you, I donāt want to eat your food, I donāt want to talk to you. We can just live, you live on that side, I live on this side.ā
Fred replied: āI am so sorry. Can I just say? First of all, I am sorry Iāve offended you. I am unaware that you felt offended. I am unaware that what I said would lead to this conversation, I only said that in a way because I am older than you, I am 51 and youāre 26.ā
Nella said: āIām not stupid, youāre not going to little girl me, youāre not.ā
Fred replied: āNella, it wasnāt like that at all.ā
Fred added: āEither I made a mistake and I said something and I offended you, Iām really sorry. Iām really sorry you feel like this.ā
Nella said: āI accept your apology, but in order for us to live in this camp together, I donāt want to eat no food that youāre cooking, donāt talk to me, you stay over there, I stay over here and we can live. Iām good. Yeah. You stay over there. Look at your face, youāre smiling.ā
Fred went on to ask: āYou could have said straight away, āExcuse me Fred this is upsetting me.āā
Nella said: āCan you not clock on the vibe?ā
Fred replied: āNo, because youāve been sleeping quite a lot so I thought you were tired. If I made a faux pas, unwillingly, unconsciously, I am very sorry. But this was all it was. Thatās all it was. If you want to take it to the nth degree and not speak to me anymore, itās your choice.ā
Nella: āYou only get one chance to disrespect me. I accept your apology but letās not be friends. How about that?ā
After witnessing the scenes, viewers of the show took to social media to express their opinions on the disagreement.
One wrote: 'Was no need for that from Nella', with another adding: 'Okay but itās wasnāt a malicious commentā¦..just creating drama for absolutely no reason and I like nella but that that right there wasnāt warranted š tryna flip what he said into summit bigger'. (sic)
A third wrote: 'Complete overreaction. Fred never meant any offence', with a fourth adding: 'I honestly canāt get over how she reacted. Itās a turn of phrase that wasnāt said with attitude or maliciously. Bonkers behaviour.' (sic)
Others were more supportive of Nella, with one adding: 'Go easy on her, she's clearly in pain', with another writing: 'She had every right to express her feelings on the matter'. (sic)
