Following the huge success of Heartstopper season one, the popular Netflix series was then renewed for two more seasons. Season two arrived on Netflix in August 2023 and continued to capture fans' hearts as we saw the relationship between Nick and Charlie grow.

In exciting news for fans, last October Netflix went on to confirm that season three of Heartstopper had entered production, and now eight brand new episodes have finally landed for our viewing pleasure!

When was Heartstopper season three released?

Revealing series three will air in October 2024, bosses wrote on social media on Wednesday 20th March: 'Cue the leaves... 🍂🍂🍂Heartstopper Season 3 comes to Netflix this October!!! #NextOnNetflix'. (sic)

In October 2023, bosses confirmed production had officially started.

Alice Oseman, the illustrator who created the graphic novels the series is based on, also shared a photo of the script for the first episode of season three. In the photo, the episode's name is revealed as 'Love'.

Speaking to Netflix Tudum website, Alice also revealed some more information about the season explaining: "People who have read the comics will know what’s going to happen, but I don’t want to spoil it for people who haven’t been reading the comics.

"I think (Season 2’s ending) just sets up that conversation for next season. We know that Charlie loves Nick, and I think we know that Nick loves Charlie as well. It’s just about when and how they’re going to say that to each other."

All eight episodes of series eight are available to binge now.

What will happen in season three?

Netflix say of the third season: 'Charlie would like to tell Nick that he loves him. Nick also has something important to say to Charlie. As the summer holiday ends and the months race on, the friends begin to realise that the school year will come with both its joys and its challenges. As they learn more about each other and their relationships, plan social events and parties and start thinking about university choices, everyone must learn to lean on those they love when life doesn't go to plan'.

Is there a trailer?

The official trailer was released at 3pm on Tuesday 17th September, with the caption: 'Charlie and Nick are ready to take things to the next level. As they get closer in every way, they face their relationship’s biggest challenge yet.'
